Re: Grouping units gives different results.

I misunderstood. Sorry I don't know how to do that with icon for group. Though that would be really nice feature if it could be done reliably.

Re: Grouping units gives different results.

I think that sequence in which these units were placed on map has effect on this.

Thus when I plan to create group the first placed unit on map needs to be the one I want to be "leader" of the group.

I think also that there is way around it. If I have for example five units and I want one of them ...

Re: Looking for feedback on Cold War scenario ideas

That Soviet - Turkish clash looks nice and plausible.

Proxy war could be quite realistic (depending on decade) but then there would not be any clashes with soviet navy.

One possible naval confrontation could be due to Libya. In real time Libya toyed with possibility to join Warsaw Pact. So in ...

Re: Looking for feedback on Cold War scenario ideas

My first thought was also why Turkey vs Romania.

But why not Turkey vs Bulgaria. Some border incident spiralling out of control.

Another thing is time period. If it is in first half of 1980s Soviets could be indeed scared that it is NATO conspiracy to test Warsaw Pact resolve by conspiring ...

Re: Aircraft RTB immediately after taking off

Isn't it this problem: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... ?p=5135507

It should be solved with new database which was available with patch 1328.16

EDIT: I see it is different issue.

2.- Command guidance

Here things get complicated, this type includes many different names that end up being the same.
This system can be found as "Pure" Command guidance, which is not represented in the simulator and covers a few very old units of the first SAM systems that came out, or in ...

JUst make sure to seperate all the different versions. The Boats of Cherborg has a good description of how I and II work. I have found this site aligns with that.

Re: Review and Editing of Unit Descriptions

Based on what I was reading, I thought the Gabriel had the following guidance(s): 1) A command link where the operator "flew" the missile immediately after launch to guide the missile to a radar beam that was aimed at the target. 2) the missile rode the beam (assisted by inertials) to the vicinity ...

Re: Review and Editing of Unit Descriptions

I know, I know I am again here with my nitpicks.

I don't know much about Gabriel missiles so I cannot really comment it but in the provided description I have problem with statement that at first it uses SARH guidance but in "details" is written that it is beam-rider.

SARH and beam-rider guidance ...

Re: The Air Operation: A Warsaw Pact Strategy for Achieving Air Superiority

Following this thread - attached is mission where as soviet fighter air commander you need to clear sky over central Germany to open corridor for Su-24 bombers which are about to strike NATO air bases.

It is based on my 1983 research scenario which is still far from complete but still it might be ...

Re: 1328.12 and 1328.11 Fighter RTB (mission over) immediatelly after take off

After further testing and comparing MiG-23M to MiG-23MF I have found out that MiG-23M (DB300 entries 2639, 2611 and 878) has in database in AIRCRAFT LOADOUTS setting written under air-to-air loadouts text: "Air Superiority, WVR AAMs ".

And that is probably the problem. All other MiG-23 interceptors ...

1328.12 and 1328.11 Fighter RTB (mission over) immediatelly after take off

I have problem with fighter flight of two intercepotors soviet MiG-23M (DB3000 - entry 2611) which are attached to AAW Patrol but immediatelly after take off they go to RTB (mission over). This happened both in 1328.11 and 1328.12 and with databases 502 and 503.

The problem is weird even more as ...

New version attached with aircrafts from new database and finished 4. Luftwaffendivision.

Also added are some elements from Group of Soviet Forces in Germany - notably 157th and 163rd SAM Brigades and three fighter divisions (6th Guard, 16th Guard and 126th)

Re: (Build 1307.19) Aircraft don't drop unguided bombs: flightplan issue?

It seems to me that it doesn't work fine in build 1328.8

Attached is test scenario where a flight of 4 aircrafts is set to launch from airport and attack target which is group comprising of two fixed installations with unquided bombs.

The flight starts normally till it reaches target. Then for a ...

Re: SAM kills 15nm past "max" range

In my opinion the problem with Nike Hercules is that in game it works as SARH missile but in reality it is command guided.

These guidances behaves significantly differently at longer ranges so while Nike Hercules can be quite precise at short range it loses its precision very significantly with ...

Re: Review and Editing of Unit Descriptions

Nice! Good description of N001 relation to N019.

Regarding Su-27 I have these remarks:
- Instead of R-27R1, R-27T1 and R-73E just use R-72R, R-27T and R-73 as the previous designation are the ones used for export, also mention of R-27ER and R-27ET should be there.
- C-8, C-13 and C-25 should be ...
