Re: Strategic Command: WWI - Battles for Ypres | DLC Announcement + Beta

Ypres should be a good one. Looking forward to it.
It is nice you are adding more to this nice game.

I also yearn greatly for a Gallipoli DLC. Imagine a zoomed in version of that battle like you did with Okinawa in the Strategic Command Pacific War - a sheer delight for fans of Gallipoli. I love ...

Re: Overlord Introduction to scenarios

Those town battles sound very fun and fairly evenly fought it seems.

What does "they advanced into town using marching fire"? I imagine a column of redcoats firing musket volleys at buildings while marching into the town. There must be a WW2 version of this.

Re: Overlord Introduction to scenarios

Sounds harrowing for the hapless Germans who are trying to retreat to Carentan. At least they had a nice little delaying battle at the hamlets and bridge. Hopefully they can make it to safety before the fierce paratroopers set upon them.

Re: Stavelot Crossroad is a real challenge (small scenario)

Thanks for your reply Portunus.

I just saw an animated video of the Stavelot crossroad and it was really a full disaster for the Germans. I guess me losing badly every time is a realistic result.

Here is the video I watched. If you are fan of the Wehrmacht, brace yourself for a lot of bad luck ...

The game looks really good in the screenshots and a steam friend is playing it so I found out about it.

Re: Race to Fulda is fun but needs a script upgrade

okay I found the saves using that resume line. I didn't know that was shown in game.
The saves are in the Slitherine game folder of this in the Modules folder.
But I can't find any way to attach a save to this post.

doesn't seem to work

Is there an email I can send a ...

Re: Race to Fulda is fun but needs a script upgrade

I searched vigorously in that user documents folder and the Flashpoint Cold War only has one folder inside "Launcher"
I can't find the saves anywhere even using file name search.
I am using Windows 7 so maybe it stores it different? I doubt it because that folder "My Games" is loaded with other ...

Re: Poll: Do you play Campaigns?

I live for campaigns.
But I always play through the scenarios first in these games and in others as training and for fun, before getting into the campaigns.
So both scenarios and campaigns are vital for me.

Re: Race to Fulda is fun but needs a script upgrade

CaptDarwin: I didn't know the AI adapts to battlefield conditions like that. It is true their T-80s were massacred early in their approach along with two teams of BDRMs scouting and a lot of BMP-3s too. I think if those 3 stacks of mech inf had attacked, I would have been in trouble because I lost a ...

Race to Fulda is fun but needs a script upgrade

Hello I just played Race to Fulda as the goodguys on grognard with random Soviet plan

I did real good.... actually too good compared to my usual mediocre to dismal results. I knew something was wrong when I whooped the badguys and got a Decisive Win which is very rare for me. The final report ...

Re: Overlord Introduction to scenarios

Sounds like a fun infantry battle in Tulle. The German reservists did well despite low numbers against the untrained guerillas. Interesting how numbers slowly overcame the more professional trained soldiers. I supposed the German reservists were not well-trained but just adequate with radios to help ...

Re: Overlord Introduction to scenarios

Oh wow the battle for Vulle sounds very intriguing. I don't know about that history.

Brian Kelly is busy working on Overlord Steam + his day job.

How ‘bout you and I playing a scenario + writing an AAR? You pick the scenario and sides.

All the best,

Re: Overlord Introduction to scenarios

That Maquis battle for the sleepy town of Tulle sounds very unpredictable. I guess poor Tulle will be riddled with small arms fire soon. The communist Maquis were nasty so I am cheering for the Germans to win this battle.

Re: Scenarios for Advanced Heroes and Leaders Collection mod

I missed your top down post.
I do like the top down view as well. I guess it is kind of more realistic looking and less like a board game.
Your cards of both styles look very good. I will try both styles, even though I said I prefer the unit cards. I might get to like the top down view as well. It ...
