<t> i have changed the name of arad to craiova in the construction.lua, but in the game the new name has not been presented it turned to blank showing just the PP. i presume there must be something else linked too, event, picture, both, more?<br/>

RE: COMMANDER THE GREAT WAR AND ITS FUTURE.

<t> some more observations about the current diplomacy. the facts below are based on the 1914 scenario.<br/>
- you are not able to declare war against neutral countries in the first 5 turns. why?<br/>
- from the sixth turn you are able to declare war against anybody. that means the central power ...

RE: COMMANDER THE GREAT WAR AND ITS FUTURE.

<t> "In November 1914 German Admiral Tirpitz decided to have mines laid in the confluence of the Thames. Torpedoboats S115, S117, S118 and S119 sailed out, but the British units were already waiting for them: at first a submarine, later a cruiser and four destroyers appeared. German captain Thiele ...

RE: Thoughts on 1.62 beta patch

<t> just a thought about bulgaria.<br/>
the country joined the CP because for, say so, short term profit. what did they see in 1915? the impotence of entente in the region: gorlice, isonzo, gallipoli and the twilight of serbia. it is normal that they wanted some bites from the prey, in 1915 the CP ...

RE: COMMANDER THE GREAT WAR AND ITS FUTURE.

<t> there were so called two important resources in ww1: coal, indeed, but practically none of the coal mines of the war countries were in danger, except some french ones occupied by the germans in 1914 that caused some cold days for the french people later on. the other one was the food. that was ...

RE: What's the deal with Bulgaria?

<t> plenty of good ideas in this forum.<br/>
resources transfer is so obvious, albeit in this case the roles of the overseas countries should be revised seriously, i mean why would for example portugal waste her manpower if she is able to support her allies with a decent resource support? sure ...

RE: What's the deal with Bulgaria?

<t> i think i have found it.<br/>
there is an alliance total power check based on the alliance strength (of the armies i presume) plus the economies plus 50 (fix value).<br/>
this check is ignored in 1914 and (or???) in the first 20 turn (i think this is for other starts than 1914).<br/>
and ...

RE: Entrenchment lvl ?

<t> thx again.<br/>
at least the upgrade got a good answer, yet i consider it as a display bug.<br/>
but the others... i think these issues should be thought again. convoys increase manpower, really, why, how? do they bring cannon fodders or what? gee, this really kills the balance...<br/>

RE: What's the deal with Bulgaria?

<t> i read game_diplomacy.lua and if i read it well then if the EA is too strong, bulgaria will not join to CP. this looks ok, who wants to be with the losers? there, there.<br/>
solution a: faction alignment of bulgaria is to be set closer to zero in 1914.lua. in this case the country joins sooner ...

the bombard is the shock of the ranged attacks, so say. why is a different measure then? i still do not get it...<br/>

RE: Entrenchment lvl ?

<t> anybody can tell me how the bombard skill works?<br/>
as per the advice message it should reduce the entrenchment value of the target. so i bombarded a fortress with a zep and two guns, no reduction. alright... then i tried a plain entrenchment with the same bombard power, same result. hmmm ...

RE: Entrenchment lvl ?

+1 for persia! :)))
-2 for more turkey pp and those special units, like apc and train (except the sole fighter)! as far as i know turkey did not use armoured trains in ww1. they had some apcs, but only for show and their combat efficiency were zero: golf carts, potemkin tanks...
