Re: Colony with less than 50% quality

As a side note, it would be nice if sorting by suitability would respect the racial filters. That is, "Suitable for Boskara" should sort by suitability for Boskara specifically, instead of just any highest suitablility value.

[1.0.2.8] Some minor bugs & remarks

Ancient Inacive Ackdarian Spaceport: Playing as humans, I've got "we have no code", "will become hostile", "became hostile as expected" etc. - but at the same time the "investigate" prompt, and then, instead of actually becoming hostile it joined my empire.

My military fleet blockading a planet ...

Re: Can't Colonize Independent Colony in Nebula - says it's too far away but it isn't

@Llamageddon
How do the actual travel routes look like if you send a ship to these two systems? As the max colonizing distance seems to apply to that automatically calculated route - and not point-to-point distance.

But I guess the main issue (or rather the argumentation for why it works like that ...

Re: Can't Colonize Independent Colony in Nebula - says it's too far away but it isn't

After inspecting more of the problematic nebulae in my game, I would speculate that ships (or, generally, routes / all types of path calculations) try to minimize the time spent in nebulae at all costs. That is, ships seem to look for the closest nebula edge and select a suitable system in that ...

Re: [1.0.2.2]Mortakosh tends to siege Capital Systems

It has to refuel and then goes to the nearest inhabited planet or something like that. And then it has no reason to ever leave the system. This should probably work only for independent worlds - but not with actual empires (why would anyone sell fuel to it?). It could also change systems randomly ...

Re: Can't Colonize Independent Colony in Nebula - says it's too far away but it isn't

And here's another example: Anything I send to Omgal goes north first + intra-system jumps are broken. Also, the territory around that system has an unusual configuration (non-euclidean space? :) ).

I've attached my save file. A little to the west, I can see a very remarkable system surrounded by a ...

Re: Can't Colonize Independent Colony in Nebula - says it's too far away but it isn't

Here is a routing example. Yothlis is inside a tiny yellow nebula. Commanding a ship to Neioth results in a remarkable route. Also, I can't colonize a planet in Yothlis, as it's, effectively, "out of range" (although I have two colonies nearby). At the same time, I can send ships to somewhere in the ...

Re: [1.0.2.1]Not enough Ion Protection

In my game, it's a big issue: I've colonized 2 independent worlds inside green (grav) nebulae using manuelly updated colonizers (with Ion Shield). Well, now none of my other ships can enter those areas, civilian freighters get stuck etc. None of the auto-designs include Ion Shields and if I update ...

Re: Can't Colonize Independent Colony in Nebula - says it's too far away but it isn't

I think, the main issue is the "strange" (actually, broken) routing inside nebulae: Ships often plot insane round-trips to other systems, outright refusing to move in straight line to a destination inside a nebula. Even for intra-system jumps! It results in very long effective point-to-point ...

Re: We envy your power - is this intentional?

Wow, thanks for the quick fix!

And no, it doesn't seem a new game is necessarily required: I've just loaded a previous save and the value now definitely changes over time (or, rather, the "weight" is much lower). It went from -35 to -30 with 4 of the races almost immediately and is still rising (up ...

Re: We envy your power - is this intentional?

It's a game with winning conditions, so to counter it you get "too powerful".

In some cases, befriending me would be more beneficial as a way to hinder my progress than simply declaring war and getting destroyed.

It's not about difficulty or the challenge, but other empires behaving ...

Re: We envy your power - is this intentional?

How is it breaking the game? You’re the strongest power and closer to winning the victory objectives. Ultimately, they want to win the game as much as you do and they want to stop you.

Don't you think this argumentation is completely immersion breaking? We're not talking about a chess game vs ...

Re: We envy your power - is this intentional?

For me, it's quite a deal breaker: Every single empire I encounter immediately shifts towards extreme hostility - and "-35" is very hard to counter, even with high level diplomatic research (and I don't have access to level 3+ yet). I think I can manage a couple of wars more, but I hoped my foreign ...
