RE: The Elephant Vanishes : obvert (J) vs Historiker_SqzMyLemon_Canoerebel (A)

<t> It’s really interesting to see how a well-managed Japanese air force fares against a good Allied player. Clearly there are things Canoe could do better on the strategic bombing front, but you’re certainly not making it easy on him. I’d be curious as to the Allied fighter and bomber pilot pools ...

RE: 25 January 1943

The toll of this campaign is crazy. In this timeline there will be a movie called “An Island Too Far”, I think. Your airframe losses seem really minor too. Well done!

RE: Notes from a Small Island

Well, I’m glad this has turned out to be a mountain of a molehill situation. You and Obvert have put on a hell of a game for us and it’s nice that you’re still on the same page and the game isn’t in jeopardy. Sorry if my comments came off as overly critical!

RE: Notes from a Small Island

<t> I’m a regular reader but very infrequent poster, so my apologies for piling on. That said, you’re entering the endgame for Japan, when they’re clawing for everything they can get and their ability to do so is waning every turn. Some players like Lowpe seem to thrive in such an environment ...

I’ve always wanted to see what the Liz and Rita can do. Have you done much with them to-date? It’s a tough thing to justify building 4-Es for Japan given the cost, especially since it seems like they’re far more fragile than the allied options.

RE: December 1944

<t> The way I see things there are a few critical questions to ask at this point: First, are you going to be able to maintain this pace of fighter operations for long? The moment you run out of airframes or supply things will quickly go south. Secondly, what is the VP result of the strategic bombing ...

That was a nasty bombardment, but man, another 20,000 men is crazy. He needs to be bombing, bombarding, or really just ignoring truk entirely rather than doubling down.

RE: DBB:C -Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies)

<t> It's relatively low total casualties but lots of destroyed squads and vehicles. Has it been a measurable amount for your VPs? It's kind of crazy to be fighting like this over Truk in the spring of '45, what a luxury even if it's cost you some CVs. Do you have research allocated for the late war ...

This Indian adventure is very interesting. I'm very interested to see how it goes. Hitting India always seemed a tough one because of the ease of allied logistics, but your rate of blitzing it is impressive. I hope it pays off for you.

RE: Empire strikes back- NJP vs Wargmr (no wargmr)

<t> Right. Although I don't know if it's that simple. The burn rate of supply from strategic bombing is huge, and Mike didn't even utilize it to its maximum. Conserving supply is one option, another is spending more early to try and stave off the HI onslaught for longer, if doing so is possible.<br ...

RE: Too much Iron in my Diet - Mundy vs KenchiSulla

<t> I would be shocked if he didn't immediately run for the hills. Having hit your CVEs hard (and paid a price in airframes) he knows what's going to come next. The only reason he'd stick around is if he had something else up his sleeve. Could you instead try and extrapolate where his oilers are and ...

How are things looking on the VP side? Any chance of some maps to show what's going on as 1942 draws to a close? It would help someone inexperienced like me contextualize the last bunch of updates.

RE: Out of Focus comes Chaos <No Paradigmblue>

<t> That's what I was trying to tell you. The early allied fighters are much, much better than stock. In particular the P-50 is able to perform high altitude sweeps and get the dive bonus and it is extremely effective. If you can find where he bases these you night want to bomb their bases, since ...

RE: The Good The Bad & The Indifferent

<t> At this point in the war risk taking seems like it's in your favor. If you have a bad outcome you end up delayed a few months and end up pushing more under LBA. If he has another bad day at sea you can start really pushing at a high rate. No matter what outcome you can keep the initiative ...
