Re: Counterfactual History of WW2 Using MWIF (Solo GW)

what do these simulate?
HR 5. Free Warship Builds.
HR 7. Free Sub Move (Pre turn).

is it simply that some games have "under supply" / representation of warships?

RE: Solitaire game starting late '42

you mentioned ge in lennigrad area have it "easy" as in supply and reinforcements... if Ru has a bit of a land lull a combined with the lenningrad fleet sailing into the baltic may disrupt GE's idea of "easy" and possibly cost them a few transports needed in winter for the ore

RE: Solitaire game starting late '42

<t> i will make the same suggestion for Ge i made for Ru earlier - retreating is a reasonable option to shorten lines which spares units for reserves and west theater, also rivers must be around somewhere ...<br/>

RE: Solitaire game starting late '42

<t> can't be everywhere, with a lot of transports you can threaten much and then go where they ain't... and if jp split forces over time you can dog pile on some location and maybe hit them in parts with your main force e.g. small forces protecting convoy lines - overkill maybe but over time the CLs ...

side note: stuffing Sicily i wasn't trying to be too a-historical. once significant (overwhelming?) force was there IT had had enough (after losing most of their territories and sicily and lower half of the boot...)and figured there are enough allies to protect us to at least some degree

RE: Solitaire game starting late '42

<t> now that you have tripoli i think you have 2 of 3 needed conditions for italian surrender? if so i believe sicily counts as mainland italy and packing allied troops there may get you over the garrison value and you get to see that new navy go poof and surrender along with all the IT units in ...

o points / chits come in handy for US (and others of course) to do an air but move some naval or land etc

and hopefully my idea is working (I can't tell yet) of RU moving into their supply and reinforcements and away from GEs

<t> although the russians lost little (it seems) in 41, in 42 they may be a bit further forward due to that but they are still not as strong as they thought. they in better than historical shape maybe but 42 wasn't a banner year yet for russia and they needed to be a bit more willing to withdraw and ...
