Re: Terrains still affect the likelihood of RFC (retreat from combat) or not?

Many thanks! I thought in Toaw IV, terrain only affects the RFC indirectly through AT-AP bonuses.

So now is the effect of terrain double counted?

For example, first the terrain will increase the defender's AP, improving the strength ration.

Next, the "ratio will be further modified by terrain ...

Terrains still affect the likelihood of RFC (retreat from combat) or not?

In TOAW III 3.4 the manual explicitly says that the RFC probability will be directly reduced by 83% if the unit is in a fortification line.

However, I find no information about terrain RFC effects in the TOAW IV manual. I wonder if this mechanics still exist.

In TOAW IV does the terrain only ...

Well still, in T3 you could plan attack on an empty land to check the air-cooperation and the cooperation from different tiles.

In T4, you cannot check the cooperation between air and land units unless there is an enemy unit nearby.

Re: TGW 1941-1945

Dear Great Author of TGW, I wonder if there exists a detailed scenario description txt or scenario design txt that explains the mechanics in detail.

Any designer's note will be very helpful!

How to easily check cooperation status without planning a battle?

If you use "planning a battle" to check cooperation you have no idea if a non-movable or a re-organizing unit is cooperative or not.

In T3 you could once easily check cooperation by "show group composition".

Cooperation status is very important because non-cooperative units suffer 60% of penalty ...

RE: How to know which unit cooperate with which?

The plan attack window will work only if there is an enemy nearby. If no enemy is adjacent to your units in question, you cannot plan an attack in TOAW IV. But in TOAW III you can always plan attack even if your target in an empty land.

How to know which unit cooperate with which?

<r> In Toaw3 there are three easy ways to show cooperation. First you could show the nine units in a single cell, and that interface will have golden or silver flags that tell you cooperation status of <B><s></s>each <e></e></B>unit.<br/>
<br/>
Or, you could plan an attack on an empty land ...

How do we know if a unit is "free-support"?

Free-support and formation support units are very valuable as they cooperate with many units. How do we know which unit is a free-suppot?

RE: TGW scenario

Hi, I noticed that the soviet 64 rifle corp (at north Georgia) was set to be activated on turn 500. However, when I am playing this scenario, they are activated on T8. Is this set on purpose? Is this set through scenario events? Are there a list of events for TGW? Thanks again.

TGW 1.11 East front Soviet army reserves

Hi, could any please let me know the mobilization conditions of Soviet "reorganizing" reserves? e.g. those in Georgia.

I also wonder if there is a development thread for TGW scenario, or a TGW hand-book/house rules.

Much appreciated!
