Re: Northern Fury 38 - Hammer 14/3/94

One additional issue - this one also for Bart - the bridge and the northern ferry pier are placed such that they are under water and therefore cannot be attacked by air. You can go into the editor and move them until they have an altitude rather than a depth if you want to keep the targets available ...

Re: Northern Fury 38 - Hammer 14/3/94

The trick to activating the laser designator is to open each unit individually, go to the sensors button, and toggle the laser designator to active manually. PITA but the only way I have found to do that reliably. The designating aircraft has to be below clouds to laser designate, but the dropping ...

Re: Northern Fury - Check out the book based on CMANO scenarios

I have read elsewhere that having more reviews on Amazon increases the exposure in their advertising algorithm. More reviews = more sales = presumably more stories for us.

Re: Critique my scenario concept - China invades Papua New Guinea

Interesting concept.

One possibility for Indonesia is them sticking their noses into both sides - intelligence gathering and asserting their role in the region - with penalties and risks for either side engaging them, either deliberately or accidentally.

Another asset of interest would be a ...

Re: New Scenario for Testing Med Fury 7 - Under Pressure, 1994

Version 1.2 is very nice.

One glitch, the trigger for Arc Royal getting to the final zone points is the Nimitz arriving. Nimitz trigger is used twice.

Critical to surviving the bomber strike is to give the observers a view of the Nimitz or Arc Royal so they come south of the FEBA and can be ...

Re: New Scenario for Testing Med Fury 7 - Under Pressure, 1994

Version 1.1 plays very differently than version 1.0. Key points are:
1.) Bomber strike can't be avoided in 1.1 like it can in 1.0. Oddly, the bombers were not launching at max range, that allowed for a turkey shoot over the Sea of Marmara. It took every fighter that could get there from Nimitz (Mig ...

Re: New Scenario for Testing Med Fury 6 - Hammer to Fall, 1994

The reduced force level in version 1.2 does make you think a lot harder about what to hit and how.

One question - the 4 x Flogger H assigned to Al Tar CAP are armed with AS-7s and are part of an AAW patrol. Should they be assigned to the Ship Strike mission?

Re: New Scenario for Testing Indian Ocean Fury #8 - Red Sea Rumble

One possible issue identified. Upon capture of the bunker at Kamaran, there does not seem to be a LUA that changes it's side. That is a problem as the trigger for exploitation is based on a time limit a NATO bunker at that location. Also, the message announcing capture is the same message as the ...

Re: New Scenario for Testing Baltic Fury #5 Ivans March across the belts

Completed rough play through - higher losses than I should have had and lessons learned on applying reconnaissance and integration of airborne/seaborne capabilities.

Running through again with refinements to organization.

Changes to TOE - mostly to replace non para assets with para capable.
At ...

Re: New Scenario for Testing Baltic Fury #5 Ivans March across the belts

Impressive Scenario - I am a little over 2 hours into it so far.

In keeping with a bridge too far - the 101st has taken Eindhoven with bridges intact - awaiting a counter attack and
the 82nd and 1st are yet to drop.

Only issue so far is that the Spetsnaz at Laage are not para capable - I assume ...

RE: New Scenario for Testing Baltic Fury #4 Ride of the Valkyries

Version 1.3 is great fun - the surprises are excellent. Only issue is several of the NATO fighters are not assigned missions. I assumed they went to the same missions as their squadron mates.

RE: New Scenario for Testing Baltic Fury #4 Ride of the Valkyries

All manual attacks, I find that strike missions do random things I'm not expecting - like route the mission right through the SAM envelope.

RE: New Scenario for Testing Baltic Fury #4 Ride of the Valkyries

<t> I did not. If memory serves, I made an effort to keep the launch aircraft high above short range SAMs and made sure they were daylight strikes. Beyond that, no special attention. If you are trying to hit Nordholz, the briefing does mention smoke at that airfield - I don't remember which ...

RE: New scenario for testing PF#4, I come from a land Down Under

Performance seems to be OK so far. 2 minor points. Exocet reloads in Brunei are MM40, the patrol boats take MM38s. There may need to be an ammo pad or magazine on Christmas Island, I sent two ASW loaded P-3 and the loadout vanished on landing.

RE: New scenario for testing PF#5, Shemya Shakedown

The Mig-31s eat the F-15s for lunch. How to do reasonable damage in the face of approximately infinite Stingers is a bigger problem - not yet resolved.
