Re: Sniper pod in A2A loadouts

I think the pods are used for target identification and visual tracking on legacy aircraft that otherwise don't have the capability.

Re: (Beta 1728.2) Strike and escort missions fail to execute – aircraft never take off

I have experienced this before. I believe that it is related to the method you assign the planes to the mission. If you are in the mission screen, and you highlight the unit and then use the arrow button to drop the planes down to the assigned area, then you can experience this problem. It has ...

Re: (Beta 1728.2) Strike and escort missions fail to execute – aircraft never take off

Update: It seems the issue is related to having either a Take Off Time or Time On Target set for the mission. When both timing parameters are removed, the mission triggers and executes normally.

Re: Issues with weather in Command

@Nikel

Here's a corrected code snippet for the temperature simulation script you posted. I should now work as I just tested it in a scenario. It still counteracts the internal temperature engine of CMO. So I'm not sure how useful it is.

Re: Issues with weather in Command

Now, as a thought experiment: The script would set the maximum average temperature during the day at the peak of the sine curve. Additionally, the internal CMO temperature handling would also set a higher temperature at the same time. The effects would therefore overlap. I'm not sure if this would ...

Re: Issues with weather in Command

The idea is interesting, but this script seems to work against CMO’s built-in temperature handling rather than with it.

CMO already simulates day/night and latitude-based temperature changes on its own - I’m just not sure exactly how it calculates those from the base value. By manually setting the ...

I would have to debug the code line by line...

Re: Issues with weather in Command

Yeah - from the script you posted, I can already spot some hallucinations:

Weather Lua.png

Weather Lua 2.png

Your script tries to set the following parameters, which don't exist:

ScenEdit_SetWeather({
temperature = temp,
cloud = currentWeather.cloud,
rain = currentWeather.rain,
fog ...

Re: Issues with weather in Command

I’ve found that it can work quite well as long as you include excerpts from the Command Lua reference and don’t just ask for code out of the blue. However, having some coding experience is crucial for spotting bugs in the generated code. LLMs aren’t magic, all-knowing code generators - it often ...

Re: Lua and temperature

Yes, the code does exactly that – but it overlooks the fact that "temp" represents the average temperature, not the current temperature in the specific area where the scenario takes place. A modifier would have to be added to the script that can be manually adjusted to the particular scenario's ...

Re: Lua and temperature

Temp is the current baseline temperature (in deg C). Varies by latitude.

So that means the current temperature will also vary by the current time.

One would have to adjust the actual value for the message considering those factors.

Re: Build 1706: BVR logic error with SARH missiles in "Crank"-Mode (AIM-7M / F-15C illumination issue)

I think the excessive cranking has improved with the latest build. I'll still report the radar arc issue as a database bug.

Re: Build 1706: BVR logic error with SARH missiles in "Crank"-Mode (AIM-7M / F-15C illumination issue)

I can open an issue on the GitHub tracker if the developers confirm that the AN/APG-63 or AN/APG-70 is incorrectly configured for SARH missiles. Since I’m not an expert on these radars, I would need supporting information to substantiate the claim.

I think I can work with it now that I know a workaround. The question is, does this qualify as a WAD?

Re: AGM-114L Hellfire will not auto-fire from AH-64D (auto allocation ignored) / Build 1706 DB3K_512

Hmm, perhaps the engine internally classifies it as a SAM because of its ability to target air targets? But that's pure speculation.
