Re: A2A Guns WEZ avoidance

It's not specific to a single scenario or aircraft type, just more of a general observation on the (seemingly) flawed tactics by the fighter AI.

A2A Guns WEZ avoidance

I have had a few scenarios (currently one of the 'Fail Safe' collection) where early jet fighters are attacking large recce or bomber aircraft fitted with tailguns. The attacking aircraft will only attack from the rear putting them directly into a very limited WEZ. Is there a way to force an off ...

Re: Unable to open scenario

Any comment from the devs please, or did any of those who downloaded manage to open the scenario?

Zip and attach the scenario so that the devs may take a look at it.
I did reboot, so that shouldn't have been the case. I've attached the zipped .scen file as suggested.

[RESOLVED] Unable to open scenario

Hi, I created a custom scenario, quit and then tried to open it for testing and received this message:

ERROR - Unable to load scenario! Please copy this entire text and submit it to the dev team for investigation. Exception: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps ...

Re: Anybody else seeing a performance hit?

Just to clarify:
1) Is the performance issue on UI only (map zoom/pan etc.), on sim execution only, or on both?
2) Is this happening on a specific scenario or with any scenario?

This is definitely an unusual case, because a ton of optimizations have been added.

Ok, I might have jumped the gun ...

Re: Anybody else seeing a performance hit?

I have alsmot the exact config on my back PC and only seen slow downs when a lot of missile defense is going on. But this is VERY scenario dependent. If you don't even both with a scenario name, let a lone a save at the point of the slow down, there's not much anyone can do. There is a benchmark ...

Re: Anybody else seeing a performance hit?

Can we see a specific example save?

Also, can you confirm that the game is using the discrete GPU and not the embedded one? (You can check this by enabling "Diagnostics" in the Game Options window and then reading the "GPU: " text in the white-letter caption on the top of the main map).

It is ...

Anybody else seeing a performance hit?

Since the update it is running very poorly, with lots of lag when scrolling, selecting menus/units. Previously it was fast and smooth. Is anyone else seeing the same?

Re: Calculating aircraft flight ranges

At the risk of stating the obvious - bear in mind that ferry range is a one-way transit, i.e. airbase to airbase in the cruise, whereas combat loadouts are a radius, i.e. fly x nm, y min loiter/perform task, fly x nm back home.

Re: 'Down' aircraft

Yeah, I know pretty much anything can be scripted in by a scenario designer, but it would be good to have as standard.

Also, as i understand it, the [maintenance unavailable] tag is static, and no matter what length the scenario, that unit will remain unavailable. A nice way to accurately reflect ...

'Down' aircraft

Not sure if this a feature already requested, but could mechanical failures of aircraft be implemented? This would necessitate the allocation of 'spare' aircraft in mission planning, if there was the chance of one or more aircraft becoming unavailable due to a unforeseen failure during pre-flight ...

Are you saying you basically let scenarios regardless of length, lets say 12 hours or more run in real time?

Yeah you're a masochist.
Currently 12 hours into a 4-day scenario, so yes. I find the time compression kills the tension and immersion IMHO.

Re: Anyone else play at work through Teamviewer?

It does lend itself to that kind of 'play'. More a low-level monitoring of slower paced scenarios.

Call me a masochist but I don't use time acceleration unless the scenario has clearly concluded and I am just running down the clock.
