I agree with Thrake, high-tech components are rare but you barely use them till late game, and for early game, you can mine or purchase what you need to set up Heavy Industry, afterwards its just a matter of money or expanding further into the ruins.

I'm not going to give concrete values as it would need in game testing, but I think there are several problems with artillery currently in game:

Artillery

Pros:

Goes up to 300mm
Good defensive values, great for defending against infantry in hard terrain (woods, hills, etc.)

It is because the armor design roll its improving, you can see than the gun/attack roll stayed the same (firepower didn't change) but the armor roll did, and so the HP increased, there is no bug here.

Spaceports need several cargo bays in order to store goods, either to make the trade between the planet/colony and the spaceships faster/easier or to have enough materials stockpile to produce new ships.

Defensive bases also require a bit of cargo bays in order to have an stockpile to keep ...

Unless you can win a battle by attrition, your best option would be to keep pushing with armor units. Unless we get electronic warfare and HARM missiles, there won't be any hard counters to SAMs

It depends on the amount of heavy metals in the atmosphere, look for high concentrations of Argon/Xeon

I have seen the AI use the GR Hellraiser unit, but I have never seen it using nuclear weapons since usually the game ends before they unlock it (they must first unlock nuclear plant, which usually isn't a priority for AI, given spy reports)

I also started a new game to test the new beta and my design rolls were always over 100, I don't know if Vic overall increased the odds of getting good rolls or what, hopefully other players can comment their experiences

Turboprop aircraft have a speed limit based on the speed of sound, while jet-type engines do not suffer this limitation, and should thus be able to reach higher dogfight scores. Although evaluating the practical impact this has on dogfight score would require in-game testing.

I haven't used VTOLs ...

TLDR: Jet, turbo jet and VTOL engines aren't worth using at all since instead of being an upgrade, their stats are a downgrade overall, and having thopthers doesn't help in the mix.
