I'm a huge ATG fanboy, but after playing Shadow Empire I can't help but love some of the changes he made to ground warfare and logistics. Hoping to see them applied to ATG or Advanced Tactics 2 in the future.

Yes, and each one of those hexes provides a % production bonus to the farm if I'm not mistaken. So give them space to breathe :)

I believe there's a special unit called "Scavenger" or something that has a chance to convert hits or kills or something into Credits. But I agree that resource raiding could be worked into something cool.

Get an MG Infantry Brigade. Attach either Artillery or Light Tanks or both. Let them run into your MGs while picking off what you can.

So does that mean you don't need to build RadProtect on mining hexes? As long as the protection is greater than the average radiation of the zone I can just build one on my city hex?

Can someone please confirm for me:
Radiation Treatment applies to the population within the zone, and Radiation Protection applies to the infrastructure on the hex? I tried checking the manual but it wasn't clear enough.

Funny, was just playing a game until I experienced the 'end turn' crash. Reloaded a couple times to make sure it wasn't just a one off thing. Then I decided to try this update and it fixed the problem.
