Jan 1944 & getting a few Landing craft gun - do you put them in Amphib task forces or as escorts?

Is Bomb damage or Naval gunfire purely ramdon ? if you hit a carrier or BB with a 1000lb bomb
are they ranges between 0 & 100 (magazine Explosion) or 0-40 etc with a 1 n 100 hundred chance of magazine explosion.

what can you do with them, not well armed or have much of ASW ?

ok - Aug 1943 turn 630 a few moves back I sunk a Jap CA which has not been confirmed, but then on turn 630 trackers says I won that turn by 256 points - no CV's & BB's etc sunk no bases captured , few air losses etc etc turn 631 - Jap(Dr Hal) wins by 297 points , I sunk a SS, DD & 2 AK.s he ...

how do use them?

normally that would just take 2/3ays to repair anyway - it depends how many ships are being repaired in the shipyard?
also it takes 3 days to for a ship to be ready to form into a TF (greyed out) when taken out of a shipyard

and now DR HAL tells me a USN PC hits a mine in Pearl... anyone had a BB blow up in Port?

as an allied PEM on turn 430 (Feb 43) between us we are doing up to 4-6 moves a week depending on "life" getting in the way....

3 have hit reefs & 2 rocks!

I have now had 5 PT boats hit hidden/uncharted rocks & reefs nr New Caledonia (1 was sunk) in the last month?
Had reported 1 Jap DD grounded & total wreck nr Exmouth, anyone else

How do you use the various landing ships for the Yanks - what troops are best(Marines?)/Tank Regiments, engineers etc
how big should it be (in early 1943) and with what escorts should be used - trying to find this in the manuel?

many Railway lines (in Australia) end in a hex with no base . what is the purpose of them?
you cant seem to move troops on trains to them or pick up troops?
