Re: War in Spain 1936-39 Coming January 26!

10 days to go by my calculation - is the 22nd still the target date?
Will we get one more dev diary?

Sorry for the torrent of question - but I'm really looking forward to this title..

Re: War in Spain 1936-39 Coming January 26!

Is it January 22nd release, or January 26th?
I know its only a few days difference but I'd like to know..

Would I be correct in thinking that its version 1.0 release and will no longer be in BETA?

Thanks

Re: War in Spain 1936-39| Dev Diary #3

I suppose we are entering a time when the AI could be programmed to better reflect the traits of the enemy commanders.. for example hesitant commanders or those who make hasty decisions etc..
Essentially a more realistic form of 'Red Teaming' that we humans conduct, with even less bias built in ...

Re: War in Spain 1936-39| Dev Diary #3

This does sound very exciting and an impressive piece of work.
Cant wait for January!

A few questions if I may...

Are you in essence describing doctrine? It would seem (and I'm no expert) that you have elected to programme the AI with 'manoeuvre' doctrine as per General Raus. -Rather than Soviet ...

Re: War in Spain 1936-39 | Dev Diary #2

WitPAE works on my Windows 10 machine. - buts its really not great (visually) and I need to use 3rd party apps to make it at least usable.

Anyway loved the dev diary, well worth the wait..
The new Engine and Setting is greatly anticipated - and dont even get me started on the future potential for ...

Does anyone know what the battle rhythm is for the Dev diaries?
Weekly, 2-weekly or monthly?

Cant wait for the next one!!

Re: War In Spain !

Will any aspects of the game have more automation as an option?
For example in GGWE2 the Air war can be controlled by the AI.

Whilst I enjoy having control of all the minutia sometimes in WITPAE it can be a little daunting, especially for new players.

Re: War in Spain 1936-39 : Dev Diary #1

Hi,

Thanks for the book suggestions! - Hugh Thomas "The Spanish Civil War" is in my 'basket'.

I suppose my next question would be - militarily, or at least for players of either side of this game, is the SCW an even contest?

I'm thinking of WITPAE or GGWE2 where the results are almost forgone. i ...

Re: War in Spain 1936-39 : Dev Diary #1

Really enjoyed this Dev Diary.
I know very little about the Spanish Civil War so getting a small introduction was great.

Excuse my lack of knowledge but was the war evenly balanced? -Or was one side always most likely to win?

I'd love to see some video's of the game being played - or mechanics being explained.

Are any planned before release?

Re: enemy casualty in campaign

Is the 'infinite enemy' for a campaign likely to change?

One thing I like to do when playing campaigns, such as Red Storm Rising, is to focus on the enemies key kit and equipment.

For example if I can degrade his AA units I can bring in more air support, or if I degrade his infantry, woodblocks ...

Hi Cardolam,

I too have just purchased the game.
I did notice this thread which seems to bear some resemblance to your question - hope it helps;

I will try windowed mode the next opportunity I get. (and report back)
Windows key generated the same issue (for me)
