German Heavy Flak Battalion Motorization

Just noticed that German Heavy Flak Battalions are non-motorized in-game, but if I remember correctly IRL the heavy flak battalions were all motorized. Is this an oversight in the OB or is it a conscious decision to make them non-motorized so the units fit better with the way the game handles ...

Re: Training for soviet troops and pilots

My strategy for newly built Soviet ground units is to keep them in the reserve TB to train until their experience is at least 45, ideally 50, deploy them to the map and move near where they'll be used in combat but a few hexes away from the front line for a month or more to build up preparation (I ...

Re: The ability to control other TBs-- a "War in Europe", so to speak

Everything in your first paragraph kind of makes sense but as soon as the second one hits you lost me at "Japanese invasion of the Soviet Union"

The idea isn't necessarily to model "what would happen if the Japanese invaded", but a way of forcing the player to have to weigh the risks of ...

The ability to control other TBs-- a "War in Europe", so to speak

The title is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the ability to make high-level decisions about other fronts would allow for an interesting exploration for how certain decisions impacted the Eastern Front. Instead of just sending or removing troops in exchange for pushing back events by a few weeks or losing ...

Soviet Logistics in Hungary

Is there any particular trick to keeping Soviet armies supplied in Hungary, and if so how many Troops can you push into that area before the rail network is totally overwhelmed no matter how you set your depots up? In my most recent Soviet game I managed to knock Romania out of the war by early 1943 ...

Confirm Ship Sunk

<t> Is it possible for enemy ships to sink without you knowing it? In a recent carrier battle off of Wake, I managed to score multiple bomb hits on a pair of Japanese carriers. My TFs pursued them all the way to Marcus Island, but lost contact with them for one turn. The next day I engaged a TF ...
