In my last 3 PBEMs I've sank dozens of transports and freighters in the early war Philippines, sometimes full of troops. Just pick a leader with high aggression, high-ish naval skill and use zero moonlight to your advantage. They died in droves but at least they made it worth it

Ah okay, I really need to playtest it a bit, just dont have the time. I've been going off of some post in the thread that had gone through months of campaign without killing a sub with DCs.

I feel like removing glide bombing attack profile from the game was a mistake. I dont know how effective it was but I assume it gave FBs some chance of a hit without being overpowered like 100ft strike, during which FBs I assume skip bomb.

Ah, looks like a no-go for either PBEM or AI game. Shame, I really like parts of the mod.

I was wondering about ASW because I saw DCs were modeled like 'stacks' of bombs from bombers, but it looks like it doesn't really work like intended.

Hate to say it, but I am not so sure Kaga is doomed. Sure, she took 10 bombs total, but no secondary explosions, no heavy smoke messages and nothing more than "on fire" suggest she could put out the fires and head for home. She's a tough old bird. I don't think this this is a bad result at all. In fact you clipped his wings pretty good, more or less stopped any IJN offensive ambitions. They can still raid or do land offensives where they can get air superiority with LBA, but no way they can now threaten any islands where you are developed ...

You can afford to trade carrier for carrier, the Japanese can not.

If you also sank the CS, they can become useful CVLs but are also useful ships just the way that they are.

If it is December if 1942, you will get some new carriers in a few months. The Essex class and the nice CVLs. Not to ...

Well, I went out looking for my Midway and I got it. Didn't go as well as real life one though. This leaves Yorktown as the only US carrier still afloat, if he makes it through torpedo alley.
