Post invasion movement

I cannot figure out what are the rules of movement after invasion.
Sometimes I cannot move at all.
Sometimes I can move two paces or one. Sometimes I can attack, sometimes I cant.
Does it depend on the beach hex? Is it half beach or less than that?

So baciscally how can I tell from looking on ...

Re: narvik

I think it is debatable. The 5PP in Norway is only 1 PP (rounded down) for the Axis (per turn) however the Swedish iron is worth 25PP/turn which adds up to 150PP loss (or gain) in the winter months yearly if I calculate correctly. (Is the Narvik route used 3 or 4 months in every year?)

The Allies ...

Maybe it is worth merging with the other post of the same title.

Bad weather reduces spotting chances.

Re: narvik

The will give up on Narvik as soon as you land in UK and start shipping troops over. :)

The Axis should have troops at sea near Narvik on the turn they occupy Oslo. If the UK sends ships then you will have losses most likely. Otherwise it is a walk in the park.

that's a lot

Lots of airforce, an armor, 2-3 corps and a blockade.

1. dont know - interested too
2. They sustain more casualties as they fight half effectiveness
3. Yes, reduced chances, manual has a nice table about detection.

XP gathering

Fellow gamers!

Is it worth to make an effort deliberately to gain XP with units ? I noticed that the 50% German units can gain +3-4% XP in Poland with one or two attacks. Better XP units fight better - obviously.

Should I mop up all units of a minor country if possible for XP gain? Should I attack ...

Yes, recently both happened to me, as well. So I guess no way to prevent the UK from getting merchants. Thank you for the inputs.

Re: Is it worth guarding resources against partisans?

So my starting point is that I guard at least one railway line to my troops AND place troops 5 hex apart so no partisan can spawn. With this some saboteurs can appear - but do they justify the extra troops needed to guard all resources?

Railway lines are also needed for the transfer of troops. If ...

Re: Is it worth guarding resources against partisans?

Absolutely. I was just wondering how economical is that. Let's say I have a 10 point resource in the USSR which does NOT lie on my supply railroad path. Once in a while saboteurs either cut the rail link to that or the resource hex itself. Considering that I get 3-4 production out of that resource ...

I agree with that. Just wondering how much real estate needs guarding?

E.g. there are two event that seem to be contradicting each other:

Is it worth guarding resources against partisans?

In the USSR you need to guard / garrison a railway path to your fighting troops and also keep some troops to cover the land to avoid partisan pop up. However saboteurs sometimes cut access to some resources on the map. Is it worth guarding them or just anything 10+ or so? What is your rule of thumb?

Merchants

Is there a way to prevent the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway giving merchants to UK but also conquer them as Axis? In other words somehow prevent the scripted events that give benefits to the UK? (I don't mean modding, but in game solution?)

With air units fighter planes - can they intercept in my turn and in the next opponent turn, or if I used them in my turn they are unavailable in the opponent turn?
AlvaroSousa wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 3:12 pm Just lose effectiveness. Supply for naval units is how long they can stay at sea. It isn't affected by combat.

Re: BOA Massacre

Yes, you can attack them. But it they are in raid mode, it is very hard to destroy even one sub even on the coast - so they are very effective blocking invasions especially if they can be swapped for a fresh one next turn.

Also does action in one's own turn with fleets or air make them offline for the next (opponent's) turn or maybe that is only the case for Allies?
So if I used my interceptors in my turn will they be unable to intercept in the next (opponent's turn) or they just lose effectiveness due ...
