<t>Who are you in WitP? Good question.<br/>
<br/>
I tend to think (obviously) that you should have some ***limited*** ability to control your wartime environment. The effects of your actions should be reflected in gameplay. If I carefully manage my shipping (unlike the Japanese) via painful ...

<t>Fuel was the number 1 concern for the Japanese throughout the war. At no point did they have "fuel to burn"...all operations planned with fuel considerations in mind. Giving the IJN player "unlimited" fuel ANYWHERE would distort "reality" (whatever that is). <br/>

For this campaign fuel ...

Well, I'm at the bottom of a 24.6 connection with no cable in sight. Stone age, but there's still alot of us out here in the hinterlands with ancient copper phone lines.

Pdf is fine with me...I'd rather print it out on 8.5 x 11 paper and bind it myself. Then it's "disposable".

<t>That's correct, but the problem is the unhistorical number of B-29's getting whacked by AA fire...NOT by fighters. You could pull all the Jp. fighters out, and still probably lose enough B-29's to unhistorically deplete your air wings. That's why I was saying to increase the durability*, and ...

<t>Well, that's what everyone "ends up" doing. The B-29's are nice (when they're working) because you can hit the eastern cities while attacking the others from the west with your shorter range AC. Kinda nice to have those bases in the Mariana's working, and those massed B-29 strikes are excellent ...

<t>No way of accurately modeling flak or fighter coverage on the "strategic level". The best you can do is try to balance the variables of cost/durability/cannon rating to the point where the B-29 isn't either a flying tank, to expensive to use, or so cheap that you can convert all your bombers to B ...

It helps to put a leader in charge of transport TF's with a high aggression rating as well as a high land rating. You won't get as much dithering around. With a cheesedick in charge or no leader, they sometimes won't have the cohones to enter an enemy AZOC.

The B-29 stats just need tweaked a bit is all. They need to be slightly more durable and slightly cheaper IMO...just one of those things that can only be figured out through gameplay.
