Hey Sarge,

Have you ever considered changing "Matrix Veteran, First Class" to: "Matrix Fanboy, First Class" ? Suits better IMHO....

<t>Can't make a living out of wargames ? Hey, ask Battlefront...<br/>
<br/>
Wargames as commercial product are not dead. Turn-based IGOUGO wargames with DOS-era graphics are dead as commercial products. They're fine as free games - SpWaW and Spww2/SpMbt - but this summer I'll have choice - CL or CM ...

<t>Well I think it will take about a year to patch CL to state where it satisfies everyone. SpWaW had some 15 patches and still there are complaints.<br/>

<t>Actually, to do a game like SPMW one needs a Programmer (that's not that hard to find) who knows the inns and outs of SP code (ouch).<br/>
<br/>
Most home-grown SP mods who went the way of Dodo (Moderna, Europe, ww1, Vietnam) couldn't "bite" SP code deep anough. Add new SHPs, sure, maybe even ...

The game is called SP:MBT

- it's for free

- it doesn't require Sp 2, 3 or spww2 or any CDs

- it will be posted on 14th July on Wargamer. Size is 45 MB.

<t>Hmm...can't see a point in having two modern warfare games. We have two, conceptually identical ww2 SP games - apart from major confusion for newbies it changes little. MBT is out on 14th - I hope it will be THE modern SP game (recalling all failed attempts - SP:Europe, SP:Moderna, SP:MW - I keep ...

Frankly, IMO it depends just what one considers to be important for ww2 wargame. I always thought of SP as a bit of "paper rock, scissors" when it comes to armour. A detailed system like in WaW is nice when "close call ...

but this diverges from the thread...some think that the combat in SPWW2 is way ahead of SP:WaW, particularly on the infantry side. I was hoping some SPWW2 fans who had tried SP:WaW 6.1 would comment on that? <br ...

<r>Hello guys...i prefer Spww2 but i'm regulary here to see what's up with WaW etc. The biggest amount of controversy between WaW and ww2 was the "tech" side of the game - some folks don't like ww2 for being a DOS game, some don't like WaW for size and multitude of patches. But I think that "tech ...

<r>Actually almost everyone missed the point here <E>:-)</E> IMHO the question was about the 25mm SA ATG which was added recently. It is a french light ATG used en masse in 1940 and yes it had very poor performance. The 25 pdr gun-howitzer (calibre 87mm) was quite decent AT weapon due to fully ...

OK. I downloaded v4.1, installed and great, it's a screwed file (too small, asks for disk 2). Now i need help - you guys should have a file "logfile.txt" in WaW directory. It lists update history and files installed by patches. Can anyone send it to me so i can check which files i'm missing ...

Gud here....now what exactly did happen ? I wake up and find my fave mailing list dead-dead. Not a gud start of a day, anytime. Is TGN shut down ? I'm a big fan of few sites there (SP arsenal, VASL and of course SPC) and i wonder what's up with them...
