Good thread.

The AI should use LR-CAP over its taskforces, especially transport TF's.

Coordination between carrier and surface TF's could be better.

Evacuation of lost or cutoff bases. Does it do that?

Well, you could call it 'recon in force' :D. A better option would be some reconflights at low altitude.

Mousewheel support

Please implement mousewheel support. Also hotkeys for creating TF's etc. would improve the UI alot.

Yeah, it happens. I once had a 3 plane Kate strike get through my cap of 54 Wildcats AND put a torpedo in Enterprise. Grrrrr!

In my current #17 campaign my carriers caught Yamato on her way back from disabling Port Moresby. She was claimed hit by 22 1000 pounders and 3 torpedoes. But she still steamed away the next day. Tough ship indeed!

Ive had some similar experiences in my long campaigns. Also ive never seen the AI use LRCAP over bases or TF's. I have more than once sunk dosens of AP's with the enemy carriers just a few hexes away.

Hi, yes the level bombers are currently too good a low levels. I have this houserule both in pbem and singleplayer: Levelbombers not lower than 4000 ft. That seems to give more historical results.

Aircraft upgrades

Is there anyway to tell what your aircraft will upgrade to? Can't find it in the game or editor.

In my first campaign scenario (#17), ive had several aircrafttypes on asw and naval patrol. The only confimed hit on a sub came from a B17 on naval patrol. So it happens, but very rarely.

No no no, please don't rush this game out. Take your time tweaking it. And most important: Get the AI right.

Well im using W98, so it maybe different. Locate the PAC.PIF file and select properties. Try setting the conventionel memory to 600KB and enable HMA. If it doesn't work try fidling with the other settings. BTW im running without autoexec.bat and config.sys.

Hi all

Yes the future looks bright and shiny. Remake
of PAW now, War in the Pacific later and maybe Harpoon4 sometime next year. Only one problem, will there be time enough...
