Designing a WHOLE Navy WOW

Very interested in Rule the Wave and about to buy it. But just had a thought. Planning and designing and playing Battleships seem manageable. But EVERYTHING!!! Cruisers, Armour Cruisers, Light Cruisers, Heavy Cruisers, AA Cruisers, Destroyers in six varieties, Supply Ships?, Oilers?, Amphibs ...

Are Individual non-Campaign Battles Possible?

Not played RTW before, but wondering if I can conduct 'test' battles outside the Campaigns? This would be between my latest theoretical design vs I'm not sure what. Thinking it unlikely I'd be allowed to fight against a fully reveled enemy ship, so maybe a rough 'draft' of what I think the enemy ...

Difference in Europe between War in Europe & World at War

I have both and just looking at the map, the two games look very similar, no surprise really as it geography. But wondering what is the difference in European play between the two.

Many thx guys, the fast response was great. And Hubert Cater, no surprise there, nailed it. This is exactly what I think I need. [:)]

RE: Mortar Damage a mystery

<t> I was just wanting to have an idea of the amount of damage rather than 120mm is bigger than 60mm so probably does more damage, but having no idea about damage for 60mm not very meaningful. Damage for HE shells is listed, odd mortars are different. Putting together a data sheet to give me and ...

Mortar Damage a mystery

<t> Using a spreadsheet program as a template to unpack and display formation, unit, weapon and ammo data. So far everything makes sense, except the damage from mortars, which is, for all three mortars I've looked (US 107mm, 81mm and 60mm):<br/>

Mission Creation Question

When using the current software is it possible to somehow also select the opposing forces? Being surprised by what the program decides to throw at you is great, but so would being able to pick the opposing forces also.

Will it be possible with the upcoming Mission Generator?

At Start is it normal to have units mixed up?

<t> ^<br/>
Feeling my way forward with this seeking to know what I'm doing. Just put together a tiny mission at NTC to get a feel for things. Was startled to see all my units were mixed up kinda just dumped. Had to unmix them so I could then actually set them in starting positions.<br/>

Where is the "freeware database"?

Last month nikolas mention several additional nations were already included in the "freeware database", but I'm not finding it. Where is it located and is it actually called the "freeware database"?

RE: "Expanded" Database

<t> Ah, can see your point, as long as this is consistent across nations. By 1985 the number of soldiers with combat experience was low and concentrated in the upper levels, so that would have minimal to no impact on the troops. Would have to look at other nations to see how it works out, I believe ...

I think you are probably right, esp pending the release of Mission Generator.
