Also note that if you hover the mouse pointer over an empty hex with trenches present, the trench level will be displayed along the row with terrain info etc towards the bottom of the screen.

Nope, no mods out yet that I'm aware of. Starshatter is still quite new, and modding isn't a quick process (unless your nick is DamoclesX on these forums, obviously). Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming Babylon 5 mod though, this one looks to be the first major release...yay!
