Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

Kaga might be sunk by 4 bomb hits esp with the heavy fires....depends on if the Japanese Damage control does anything but watch it burn...and if he has a nearby port to quickly/easily put into.

The Shoho looks fine neither reported showed big fires/heavy damage....it might be out of action for abit ...

Re: The Unwanted War - Xargun (J) vs AsuRob (A)

thats a ton of additional allied ground units guess he thinks 4 new air units and some buy outs is all he needs.....i would be worried about all those ground units just getting pulverized by Japanese Air in the first year.

Re: The Unwanted War - Xargun (J) vs AsuRob (A)

Ahh in the mod maybe its starts elsewhere---probably why in the normal scenarios it's at Bataan to prevent a quick T1 Japanese grab against 2 effectively non-combat units.

You sure Bataan is that weak T1? I thought the 4th Marine Regiment starts in Bataan no? Which is one of the best best units the US has in the philipines.

Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

The experience level of pilots in game IDK its a mess imo----70+ is apparently a good/veteran pilot IMO

I have bomber pilots now with 50+ combat missions barely over 50 EXP.....as well running actual bombing missions doesnt appear to increase defense skill while running training missions will ...

Re: Naval support - what is it?

The key thing for Japan is they can help ships load and unload faster this is esp important at the smaller ports they max out at low port levels as you can get extra cargo moved each turn by having naval support squads there.

Re: TRACOM pilots get wounded?

Yes i have noticed this as well lost 3 training command pilots in march 1942.

Will keep a watch as the months go on but maybe attrition rate in Training command is abit high as i think at the time i only had like 50 pilots there.

Re: Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

yep saw several of the articles on poor performance/uptime.

The standard game scenario and from what i can read historical refits of the Shokaku class were the first CVs to get radar installed during the mid 1942 refit---which the game accurately represents.

As well 2x BBs were given the ...

Re: Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

would have to look at the refit timelines but i think its like a month long refit for shokaku if i remember right.

Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

500 squad losses is painful for Japan....its not the building its the timeline of replacements making it to a resting unit not in Japan.

The Japanese should be bombing you much more if they want any results.....basically what i found to work best---as a newbie Japanese player is to make sure in ...

Re: Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

From doing abit more research at least 3 sets were put on ships confirmed in early/mid 1942.

Interestingly 2x BBs Ise/Hyuga and CV the Shokaku was the first CV to get one.

I read someone else had changed a mod where they did 2 Japanese CVs per month to refit with radar---i think this is probably ...

Re: Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

I would assume they have factored deficiencies or effectiveness of the radar into the game as you do see each radar system has different ratings aside from just range.

In all reality the effectiveness of the set should be built into the game stats/mechanics.

My question was purely if given yard ...

Re: Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

The reason I brought this up is the Shokaku class CVs get a radar with the mid 1942 refit so if this is accurate then the Japanese navy at least had some sets available starting in mid 1942.

Also in some readings i have done its stated the CVs sent to midway werent given full refits due to the ...

Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

Hes giving you a decent amount of points from Japanese Ground losses....almost 9k men on one assault in the Philippines is huge Japanese losses IMO...bombing and bombardment are much safer/lower cost methods to strip your supply so your lucky he is giving u free points.

Play Scen 2 as Japan and im finding trying to enter any allied ports with mines to basically be a dead Japanese sub, so must be some miracle luck his sub made it into PH.

Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

I know this game has been around forever buts what's the reasoning behind only the Shokaku and Zuikaku getting Radar upgrades in mid 1942 and all the other carriers which were historically sunk not having them available until 1943.

One would reason that had they not been sunk at midway or engaged ...

Re: The Unwanted War - Xargun (J) vs AsuRob (A)

400 points is alot of changes, was looking at what you could do with even like 100 points and its quite abit that can change the game up lol

The issue is the allies can do some pretty nasty stuff as well with 400 points...again even like 100pts they can add alot of airframes which the main allied ...

Re: Japanese amphib task force can't unload at Shortlands

Having the same issue in my game---i think it might have to do with the stacking limits mod as for some reason the shortlands base is showing no stacking limit at all while most of the bases in that area seem to have a 35k stacking limit i think it is....all the other bases seem to have the limit ...
