Latest Beta?

I have been away for almost a year, but would like to stay playing again. What is the latest beta version? I have 1106i installed. Don't remember where we get them; can someone point me in the right direction?

RE: Japanese Player wanted

<t> Zeta16 and I were able to get through an entire game, which ended in October 1945, in about 8 months. I have found that if you move along rather quickly, you rember much more about your forces from turn to turn and don't have to do the long "look at every unit" stuff each turn. As Japan, I did a ...

RE: Slightly off topic - New Midway movie

<t> I thought "The Great Raid" was nicely done. Showed the brutality of the Japanese, the determination of the Americans, and the courage of the Filipino Guerrillas who took significant casualties holding off the Japanese. I read up on the effort after the movie; truely an amazing feat by all whom ...

Why are you complaining? What an awsome attack on PH. Don't worry about the British, if you want them go after them.

RE: Made to 1945 as Japan

Game was concluded on October 16th, 1945. Allied Marginal Victory. What a game! Thans Zeta16 for a lively, non-gamey contest. The last few months for me were nothing to write home about for me, but it is satisfying to play a game to its conclusion.

RE: Made to 1945 as Japan

<t> Matt is now bombing me into the middle ages; I believe it is time to break out the Samurai Swords! He took the DEI and the effects are disasterous. I thought I could hold out, but once you lose that oil flow everything shuts down. If I could do it over again I would have thrown the entire fleet ...

<t> Thanks DivePac88. I appriciate that. Although we weren't able to finish I really enjoyed our game. <br/>
<br/>
To mention another, I have been playing against Zeta16 for some time now, and we typically go deep into a game, but right now it is September 1945 and we are still going. I am Japan ...

RE: Why is holding Burma so hard for Japan?

<t> Let's face it; even the worst allied players and simplest of AI engines cannot duplicate the pathethic and utterly incompetent performance of the British Army. Man for man arguably the finest troops in any army, but the high command was still fighting WWI. The only place they enjoyed success was ...

RE: Made to 1945 as Japan

<t> In reply to Cribtop, I havent' come up with anything defensively that worked. The allies always show up with more & better stuff and waste the defenses. What has allowed me to last this long with my military still combat effective is my counter-attacks. I would hit a major transport fleet with ...

RE: Made to 1945 as Japan

<t> I'm not sure how to capture screen shots for the forum, but the Allies have based their line of advance from the south. They have taken the DEI back except Boreo and Celebes, but I can't use any of the oil from there except Brunei and Mili. I still hold all of Malaya and Thailand, and his army ...

Made to 1945 as Japan

<t> Well it's Feb 01 1945 and I'm still kicking as Japan. Zeta16 is my foe and we have battled across the entire board. We both play several quick turns a day and focus all the logistic and time consuming stuff for one turn. Game moves much faster since you don't forgot what you are doing during ...

<t> My Uncle was lost at sea during WWII on a single ship mission for the US Navy. They could easily have given her escorts and air cover, but they chose to keep it a single ship mission. Sailing a Cruiser through enemy patroled waters resulted in the loss of a Cruiser; the USS Indianopolis. My ...

RE: Useful Hints

<t> To gain experience while in home airfields, don't just use training. Set your naval attack planes (DB, TB, LB) to "Naval Attack", then set "train" to 40 and "ASW" or "Search" to 40. The aircraft unit will fly missions, gain experience points in "experience, NavB or NavT, and ASW (or search). You ...
