Be careful about teaching Grandma to suck '7mm' (Spanish?!) Mauser eggs indeed, lest ye be teaching her to suck '66mm' bazooka rounds as well Ammo.
66mm? I assume that was a typo and you meant 60mm, i.e. 2.36"... Must be Murphey's LAW striking eh? <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

<t>A possible solution to this involves a bit of simple hacking of the OOB's. <br/>
Duplicate the offending weapon(s) and set the duplicate's class to '02- Secondary Infantry'. Then ensure that the units that have these extra weapons in slots 2-4 have the class 02 weapons in there. I think you'll ...

The 'stinger' on the nose of the bomb is where the fuze is mounted, providing the correct (hopefully) stand-off distance to allow for proper jet formation.<br/>
One other nasty problem of the PIAT, (there are more!?) was that the safety arrangements for this fuze were pretty ...

It is actually a spigot mortar, one of the family of designs attributable to Lt-Col. Blacker. Derived from the 1941 'Baby Bombard' the PIAT uses a HUGE (think jeep ...

<t>Admittedly this is a bit of a generalisation, but as the game has been updated with newer versions point costs for equipment have increased. (Perhaps this will change with V7.)<br/>
For example in V6.1:<br/>
M5A1 Stuart; 110pts<br/>
M4A3(76)W Sherman; 160pts<br/>
M10 Wolverine; 125pts<br/>
M4A1 ...

<t>I suspect the main cause of the problems people are having with ATR's of any type, is (as mentioned earlier in this thread) that the warhead size of these weapons (or most of them) is 2. The penetration values seem to be fine for most weapons. The oddball of the bunch is the PzB39 which gets a ...

<r>I have to agree with Paul and Mike T. on the point of this thread (ATR penetration). ATR's seem rather less effective than they used to be. <r>The .55cal Boys ATR using the AP W Mk2 cartridge (steel core, mv 3250f/s) should theoretically penetrate about 29mm of armour at pointblank range and 0deg impact angle. If there is space available in an OOB, I see no problem with hypotheticals (of any nation.) They can be relegated to the "Dec 49er" slot and will therefore be available to scenario designers and so on, without being available to the masses who are trying to play a 'realistic' game.

<t>The pen of 178 for the M9 in SPWAW 5.01 was there for game mechanics. If I understood Paul's explanation, most of the time HEAT pen will be 3/4 of the listed maximum (with some exceptions). This meant that Infantry HEAT should be performing near optimal r/l performance (120 odd mm for the M9 ...
