RE: Old options

<r> I suppose your request for automatization of the firing routine stems from tiredness of waiting for a long time while continuously pressing the f button to fire at the same target. You may want to know that the game can be run with the "impatient" command-line parameter, like this (using mech ...

RE: Tanks take too much suppression?

<r> The following is based on my tests and impressions from a long time ago.<br/>
<br/>
The excessive suppression that tanks receive from small arms fire is an imbalance which has been ``dormant'' for most of the time SPWAW has existed, but which has been made more readily observable since around ...

RE: How many spwaw players do you think there are?

<t> We must remember that quite a number of sequels have been made to the original Steel Panthers, which indicates that the market might not be that small. One problem is that people will still have to stumble on SPWAW before the become actual players. Also there is the question how we define ...

RE: russian force selection 1941

<t> Hmm, your primary problem will be the inability of your tanks to hit those of the enemy and the ability of the enemy ones to hit yours. This means you will surely need something that can withstand a few hits. T-34 should do well in this area, but they are somewhat expensive. KV-1 tanks are ...

I can copy and paste as normal both in the fast reply field and the separate-window post reply. Using Firefox 1.5.0.2 on Gnome window manager.

EDIT: In a related matter, did you know that the word 'gullible' is not in the dictionary? :)

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>Works the same in real life too. Short-sighted, low IQ types will argue otherwise, but no one can deny the Red Army after losing tens of millions of people, was infinitely stronger in 1945 than it was in 1941. Sometimes these things can happen if the Rarity preference is turned on.

I think I once fought forward elements of the dreaded Japanese 5th Knee Mortar Division.

RE: Music during game??

Personally I haven't had trouble playing sound files with WinAmp in the background... sometimes the graphical patterns which show up on many media players can take some CPU resources to generate - try disabling those effects, perhaps that might allow running both programs smoothly?

Goblin, you're missing my point. Public forums are for things of public interest. Sure anyone can post anything, but if everyone does so it will degrade the quality of the forums. Please be responsible.
