I think I once managed to get night time torpedo hit on IJN CV that was in CV TF transiting strait between Sumatra and Java.

Re: US DB Bomb?

OT, but CV armour is a trade-off.

Brit CVs were very resistant to kamikazes, but could not carry as many planes.

Re: Naval support - what is it?

To add, and as said, you often need NS to unload big stuff in small ports.

Typical examples are Radars and Motorized Support.

Re: TRACOM pilots get wounded?

Good Japanese player can achieve win against AI by 1943 pretty easily. It is very difficult for allied player until 1944.

PBEM is different story, but even in that Japanese early war advantages are quite significant, not to mention ability to smooth and grow production and economy.

Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

I'd not detract fleet boats too much from their main job, which is to sink ships.

While mk 14 has atrocious 80% dud rate, they do get sinkings. Also, every attack they perform, they have chance to increase experience.

But using them to supply transport and mine laying (don't forget that) is good ...

Re: Japanese CV Radar from Refits?

Experimental (one) IJN radar was installed on BB Huyga in summer of 1942.

More prorotypes came in 1943, but it was not until 1944, when Japanese has anything really useful in use.

Re: Back and Better Than Ever Vettim 89(A) vs Greasylake(J)

I had bad experiences with using Suva as stockpile base for fuel from WC/Panama even against AI.

Lost quite a few TK when KB gave a visit (yea, even AI can do that).

Auckland in NZ is way safer bet.

I don't see that problem.

I use Andrew Brown's updated map, so maybe it's fixed in it.

It's most likely the missing word "percent", since point is repaired when RPs reach 100%.
