Re: Reinforcing Air Squadrons

I think maybe we are talking at cross purposes.

There are both scheduled and unscheduled AG removals each with two methods, withdraw or disband.

Anything scheduled should be kept as late as possible for, as has been said, training.
Scheduled withdrawal past their date loses PPs, earlier and you ...

Re: Question About TOE delay

An altenative method. The number indicates how many day before an upgrade with 0 meaning there isn't one. The date method is easier to work out.

Re: Reinforcing Air Squadrons

You should never disband an air squadron - they're essential to your pilot-training program. Even w/ only 2 planes, over time they'll reliably train skills to around 60-level & increase experience to about 50-level, for their full complement of pilots drawn from the robust USA/USN/USMC replacement ...

Re: Reinforcing Air Squadrons

Any squadron that is grayed out or set to withdraw without having a return date I setup for training and withdraw or disband at the appropriate time. Don't fill out squadrons with aircraft that meet the above criteria. Save your pools of aircraft for front line units....GP

Re: Question About TOE delay

TOE upgrades are not complusary nor are they automatic. If you completely ignore TOE upgades the unit will simply keep on using the one it was authorised at the start of the game.

For TOEs delay date is date the unit is scheduled to upgrade to the next TOE. It is not the date that the TOE is ...

Hi,
I moved it in "Move" mode in the option screen (it had been pushed into the mountains East of Laog as a result of combat and I couldn't resist the urge to do something with it before it disintegrated like sone Dutch units in islands further South) & it shock attacked the empty base as I forgot ...

Re: Reinforcing Air Squadrons

In v28.4 scen #1 other than some FP I can only see one AG that arrives that has an authorised AC of two. A picture or at least group name would help.

You should read the manual and the Air War guide (p42-44). It is a bit complecated because there are both schedules and unscheduled removals, with ...

I've carried out the test using v28.4 on nav search with each test being run for 15 times. Mostly a single sub with glen surrounded by five US TF at ...

Re: Switching Float Planes on Subs

I don't disagree with what's been said here. My argument here is I want my subs to look for ships, can't shoot an ac down with a torpedo.

When I first started this it was to see how effective a single Glen is, mainly is it worth using, hence producing. The answer is yes they do find stuff but ...

Re: SCR-270 Radar Won't Unload

The problem is it's size. There are various limits in place that reflect a ports load/unloading ability. There are mainly based on port size and, TF type and the ability to dock individual ships.

Normally it's just a matter of using a transport TF with ships small enough to dock that rectifies the ...

Re: Air HQ Hierarchy and Aircraft Assignment

I played around with CAG sometime ago and they were a bit iffy, well more than a bit. I think this is why stock does not use them.

Re: Air HQ Hierarchy and Aircraft Assignment

Trying to understand assigning aircraft to AIR HQs and also subordinate AIR HQs to higher HQs.

For the example below:

1st Marine Air Wing (AV36)
|
+--> 11th MAG (AV72)
+--> 21st MAG (AV72)

How does proper command work? Assign 72 aircraft to each Marine Air Group and 36 directly to the air wing ...

1. Yes ships in TF train faster how much faster I do not know.

2. Not sure what scenario your in but in 28b there's only one USMC Air HQ anf that doesn't arrive until Aug 42. Is it the USN Air HQ because at the start they are not very good air leaders. Generally as the came progresses better ...

So before radar yes, after no. Are you refering to rader in general or radar on subs? If it's the latter then that's a good chunk of time.

Ignoring the use of Petes on subs, why do you say Pete don't do the job?

Re: Dutch Air Units Questions

Never thought about this before. From observaion in game and some test I've carried out the situation is somewhat confusing. Here's what I found so far.

When air units return to the game after being withdrawn they lose their restricted status (R) but not any [S] status. As they are also still ...
