Just spoke to someone who by chance was in the USCG and he told me that LST's were produced for the USN but manned by personnel from the Coast Guard. Also someone stated that it is listed as have a crew of 3. Try more like 3 to the fourth or 75-100 emn manning it.

One question to you are you or recently out of the USN? Because if so we are talking abut 2 mostly different sets of weapons. do know about the accuracy of the M2HB as with almost no training I was able to hit a wrecked 1 ton pickup at 1,000 + yards with sustained bursts.

<t>Well I will correct myself LST's are listed in Jane's (Bloody pages were stuck together) and it is listed under USN. So I do not think it was crewed by the Coast Guard but navy personnel. They weighted more then I found on the net (But Jane's could be wrong) weighing in at 2,366 tons beached and ...

<t>Well for whoever asked me about fift cals being outlawed for use against people. I will stated this I am using memories from 20 or more years ago so here is what I remeber. SSG Fuller was telling me how a .50 Cal could take out a BMP or other lightly armed vehicles at ranges of 800 to 1,000 yards ...

Well since I would be sitting in an Abrams MBT I think I would give the command driver, tracks, infantry as an RPG would just mar the paint job and piss off the crew.

Actually .50 cals are outlawed against the use of personnel only against equipment. So I shoot at weapons, steel pots, web gear etc. Of course they were outlawed after either WWII or Korea not sure. Not that it stoppped them from being used in Vietnam

<r>My 2 cents on US .30 cal and .50 cal. What I remember about the WWII era .50 which is different from the current Ma duece is it did have a slow sustained rate of fire I believe it was 450 RPM (that is a guess do not feel like digging for manuals) while the .30 cal had upwards of around 750 RPM ...

You know I never realized that as I have always used FO's for fire support missions. Different question how would this platoon work in PBEM game as I said I have not played a game by email yet but want to try. Thanks for the little info on light mortars though

<t>Only one mistake is see in your reply. The US Mech Inf platoon comes with the mortar (a dinky 60mm) I have quite effectly used these mortars in the arty capacity. The advantage to using a mortar track is 1) more mobile 2)bigger ammo maganzie 3) 81mm can fire smoke, Also you are giving me stats on ...

I do not know why a flam thrower would remove mines. They should only burn the stuff above ground and leave the mines alone. Shrugs must be game mechanics And the use of a flail tank to set off a mine is a hit and miss thing sometimes they miss the important one and you go boom!

What my now meager resources say is the flail tank was speically made to clear mines. the dozer tank could clear mines by floating the blade over the ground but it was slow. My 2 pences worth.

Re:Loading Infantry/Crew

Yes I know about the quick load button I was looking for away to load infantry after the have say ben dropped off by the vehicle moved a hex or 2 then closed assualted a unit then it is the tedious task of getting it in the same hex as the vehicle to reload,

Loading Infantry/Crew etc.

This is a bit of a dumb question is there any other way to get infantry to load a vehicle other then to have them in the same hex. Micro managing the movement can be tedious.
Thanks in advance for the help.
