Registration problem

<t> The registration screen keeps rejecting my serial number even though it was accepted when I installed. Tried to send an email thru the helpdesk screen and it keeps rejecting it saying my user name is too short! Does anyone know how I can contact Matrix to resolve the registration problem?<br ...

<t>As the previous posts have indicated it will take time especially at Rennel which has zero standard port and airfield sizes. The base symbol will not appear until either the port, airfield, or fortification level reaches 1. <br/>

This means under ideal conditions a Base Force with 30 ...

Thanks to Spooky, the Excel workbook (only 15 KB) is posted on his website.

In my previous post, I forgot to mention that for TROOPS AP's load at about the same rate as AK's, but AP's unload troops twice as fast as AK's.

<t>It appears that a number of factors (including port size, port damage, ship type, and cargo type) affect loading and unloading rates. My experiments (all with no port damage) found the following:<br/>
<br/>
1. Loading/Unloading supplies: AK’s can load 50% faster than AP’s. For example, in a port ...

<t>If you can get a ship to a port where it can anchor (port size of at least 3) the ship will not sink. Damage as severe as you mentioned will probably cut your speed to the minimum (1 hex per phase) so it would be best to try for the nearest friendly port where you can get fire/flotation damage ...

As far as I can tell every ship is scheduled to arrive in Japan/Pearl Harbor before the end of the longest scenario. Whether the ship will ever actually be committed to the South Pacific is another matter. The later the ship arrives in Japan/PH the less time is available for it to be committed.

<t>If troops are assigned to a transport ship that has enough capacity to load the entire ground unit the other transports will be ignored. If you want to load into as many ships as possible then choose the lowest capacity transports you can. For example only the 3000 AP will be used in a TF with a ...

Base Expansion

<t>Although I do not like to distill a complex game like UV down to sterile formulas, I do like to have at least rules of thumb to follow for important decisions. While playing UV I often found myself completely unable to answer 2 important questions. How long will it take this base to reach a ...

Expanding Port Size 0

<t>Ran into what I think is a display problem with 1.3. When expanding a Port (SPS=0) to size 1 the expansion went very slowly from 1 to 9 % then jumped to 100%. I think the display really meant 10 times the number (40% insread of 4%). May be related to the fix for the display problem for airfields ...

<t>For the July 1943 landing I bombarded Shortland daily with a TF led by 2 BB's for an entire week before landing (plus ground attacks by level bombers about twice a week for over a month). The shore battery fire was still ferocious resulting in numerous minesweeper and troop transport losses. It ...

<t>I had a similar experience. While invading Shortland in May 1943 my minesweepers and troop transports took such a beating that I had to withdraw in spite of extensive pre-invasion bombardment. Not wanting to waste any more troop transports, the only solution I could think of was to isolate and ...

Thanks for the reply Erik. I also managed to find your earlier post on the subject. I had searched the forum on the subject before asking my question but apparently my “radar” wasn’t operational that day.

Radar

The manual indicates that radar has some impact on Cap and Surface Combat effectiveness.

Does anyone have a feel for whether UV takes into account the difference between CSP-1 vs CXAM or SC vs SG in determining effectiveness?

<t>I had similar results and questions. I believe the Australians are given points for every unit you don't exit. The 4 100mm FH plus FO have a " purchase cost" of around 230 points (I think) plus whatever else you didn't exit. Still difficult to see how they got over 1000 points in both your case ...
