Thanks for all the constructive comments and analysis of the tactics employed in this example. I should stress that I have no problem with UV with respect to receiving a good thumping and losses when I implement an unsound tactic and take one on the chin, it's all ...

Bizarre and just plain unfathomable....

<t>Let me first preface this by stating that I have been playing UV since it was released. I have played through all of the patches and after going through the Coral Sea scenario twice, winning once decisively and once having my head handed to me, I have played scenario #17 exclusively since. I have ...

<t>One thing I have encountered with the 1.2 patch is something I had not seen previously. I had a CV group providing LRCAP to an amphi group invading Gili Gili (as the Allies). A group of G4M Bettys came in to attack from Rabaul. The CAP took care of most of them, some leakers got through a damaged ...

<t>Same for me as for Spooky. I installed the patch last night and ran a save game from Scn#17. I was playing as the allies and prior to the patch install, had been building an airfield on Lunga. At the start of the game with the patch, it showed the airfield as 87% complete or so, a few turns later ...

The Fog Of War can be misleading when enabled. It is one of the more realistic ways of playing a wargame in how it is implemented in UV. What you see in the combat animations and the after-action combat reports are what your forces <I><s>[I]</s>claim<e>[/I ...

<t>I agree as well. I know from experience writing code that when you are adding code to fix one thing, the very act of the code changes can open doors for potential bugs that were closed before. Be patient. The main structure and code base for this game is very solid, especially when you consider ...

Airstrike Range to Lunga

I have not seen this and I bombed the daylights out of Lunga with a two CV Task Force to soften up the ground forces before landing my invasion units. I launched my strikes from a point 3 hexes away from Lunga directly to the SE in order for the TBDs to be in range.
