81mm Mortar, hitting within two feet of the front or back of an AFV, will explode with enough force to shatter the underbelly Armor apparently.

I'm not gonna argue, 8.1cm's of Mortar exploding nearby is gonna cause a pretty big boom.

<t>5 StuG's are T-Bait in my books.<br/>

I've learned the StuG's are only good if you're fighting in a City, or very close terrain, where you can prevent Armor from getting behind them.<br/>

<t>Tigers?<br/>
<br/>
A.) In Attack, preferably you should have other units move foreward, while your Tigers remain at about 15 hexes or more away (I typically try to keep mine at 20 or so from my targets) This keeps pesky T's and other smaller tanks from getting good shots on my Tigers, doing this ...

<t>Actually, I had heard about the Compressed Air Mortars, it's kinda what gave us the idea.<br/>
<br/>
Oh, and Mortars hitting a ground within close proximity of a tank, either in the front or back, would definitely score what SPWaW would consider a bottom hit, the bottom armor on most tanks, even ...

Sturms? Well, I got two of them once.<br/>

Whatever you do, keep your tanks out of forests.

75% of the time, tanks in forests will get killed by a 4 man recon platoon with a Satchell Charge or something.

All it takes is 1 hit in that forest to cause your tank to Button, and then he sees zip.

<t>It's a pretty common situation in my case. The best answer is still always infantry, keep those tanks behind 'em unless you've got heavy Anti-personell fire coming from the front. Then move your Armor ahead slightly, with Infantry very close behind, and move very slowly, and attempt to stay ...

Some notes on Late War Armoured Combat

<r>Typically these kinds of fights can boil down to slug-fests, with whoever can simply out-shoot and out-penetrate the other winning.<br/>
<br/>
However, I've noticed that if you take Russia's medium tanks from this period, the T-34's and T-44's, with proper use they can easily take down German ...
