RE: I need Help - AI Testing

I've been reading Neptune's Inferno, which has given me a new itch for some WitPAE.

I'll give it a go.

RE: Old PLayers Just Fade Away: Knavey

<t> As I was reading the thread about the "William D", I was thinking that Knavey could have a field day with that story. I've noticed that things have gotten a little more tightly wound on the forums lately. We need Knavey to put things back in perspective for us.<br/>

RE: Chile miners rescue

I'm going to break my normal lurk/silence to add my prayers for the miners. I have been following this story since the earthquake and my prayers go out to the miners, their families and the people of Chile.

Best regards,

RE: How does Autoconvoy work?

<t> How do most players size their convoys? For instance, when Paul says " Put a couple of CS Supply Convoys and at least One CS Fuel Convoy from Cape Town to Adelaide." How big are these convoys? I'm working on getting my GC started and I would assume that you do something on the order of:<br ...

RE: Newby Q

<t> I don't normally speak up on the forums. I tend to lurk, read and learn from the more verbose grognards. C'mon, these guys will debate that the orange for the Dutch units is the wrong shade. Sometimes the arguments will get heated. This is an active, interested playerbase. Take everything you ...

I've installed my original download. I've downloaded the latest patch (1.32). I've learned from other games that Vista does some wierd things if you install to the "Program Files" folder so I install all of my legacy games (games ...

RE: What causes quality to increase?

<t> Aha! I thought I was going nuts. My GDs corps, after being bled white in the 1915 Western front wrap-up, were increasing in quality as the OE resources were being fed into my factories and I refitted them before transfer to the Eastern front.<br/>

This threw me for a couple of turns too.&nbsp; I've only gotten through the first winter thus far, but if you click on an enemy hex/stack/unit, you will get the opportunity to recon that hex.

I finally broke down and bought GGWaW, mostly because I saw info about this patch. Now, I am not able to get to the patch via the link in the member's area. <URL url="ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/GaryGrigsbysWorldAtWar/GGWaW-Update-v1201.zip"><LINK_TEXT text="ftp ...

RE: Painfully arranged trades

My trade advisor has been reassigned to duties more in line with his abilities. His new commander reports that he is doing a fine job of keeping the cavalry stalls clean and stocked :[:D]

Task forces in doldrums?

<r> Greetings,<br/>
<br/>
I've noticed a few times that some of my transport TFs seem to be stuck in the doldrums. They just sit in one spot and don't seem to move. Under 1.3, I was able to prod them into movement by changing their destination and Home Base orders, but under 1.4 I haven't been ...

RE: Allied initial strategy advice

<t> Greetings all,<br/>

In a couple of the above posts, I saw a mention of Base Forces growing (or not growing if you transported them). I tried understanding how the manual explained it, but I got the impression that only base forces for the computer player "grew". I interpreted that to ...

<r>My thanks to all who answered this post. I had forgotten about the intermediate leader taking charge. I guess it is a matter of personal preference. The argument could go on for weeks, but unless we sat down FTF and played through a bazillion games, we might never know the right answer.<br/>

2 questions

<r>Howdy,<br/>
1. I've searched the forum already, and found a thread about Soviet command hierarchy. Unfortunately, it wasn't answered. Is there any advantage to using a tiered command structure like the Germans or is it just as simple to leave all HQs under STAVKA? See question #2.<br/>
