RE: Do forts build too fast (particularly for Soviets)?

<t> In game terms there could be a difference between “entrenchment” of a unit which is lost after moving out of the hex and a “real fortification”. The fortification level could only be build by support units if a unit (e.g. fortified unit) stays in the hex and is fully entrenched (e.g level 2 ...

RE: supply airlift

<t> O.K. I saw supply slightly rising now and 2 Ops losses and slight variation downwards in the consumption. I think I was just too narrow to real consumption with my airlift and perhaps Ops losses before unloading. I forgot that the consumption number is an estimate (one should better clearly ...

RE: supply airlift

<t> Thanks a lot for your reply [:)]. That´s exactly what I also thought of. But consumption at the destination is static at approximately 7 per day and I have 10 aircraft with the load of 2000. So I thought it should add 10 x 2 = 20 supply points (tons)per day and leave in excess some 13 supplies ...

<t>"Flexible" victory points are a great idea. I totally agree with the conclusion the US could not lose. So it would be interesting to see how quick they can win without too much impact on the "Germany first" strategy:<br/>

... in other words...

.... were the supplies directly delivered to the frontline bases or was there also a kind of "distribution system" ?

P.S. I abandon bases when I see no need to use them further because I have enough forces/aircraft nearby to react in short time.

and the other side ?

<t>These are all excellent ideas in their own ,but when a minor power as Japan in 1941 attacks the number one industrial nation in all means , we should not give the US the further option to mobilize their forces or set them on high alert. It´s already for sure that they can´t lose, but why should ...

I currently use some second line bases (Gili Gili , PM, Lunga) supplied by 6-10 ship convoys for further distribution with small convoys/single vessels/airlift. When I have new frontline bases I disband another (now) rear area base.<br/>

<t>I´d like to command strategically (ressources, displacement of forces, production, use menpower to fight or to produce... like WIR or PacWar) with DIRECT impact on operations. That´s ( in my opinion) now possible in a computer game for such a huge scale (with automation options).<br/>

I think with a little editor-option of the OOB one can easily create different starting-options ....
I also think that there should not be a "pre-war" period in the game. Too much "what-if´s".

Don´t give us a second PacWar with mega units/task forces struggling in mega battles without the influence of their real Commander in Chief : the player.

<t>Keep the ONE day turns in WITP !<br/>
Longer turns will affect the way history is simulated. That means all these little task forces will disapear and quick reaction opportunities will disapear. No "Midway" will happen, but lots of "Marianas".<br/>
What is that "micromanagement" ? It means ...
