<t>That photo was probably taken during the opening phases of Operation Goodwood when the Brits tried to break out of (or was it into?) Caen. The British basically dropped so many shells and bombs in the opening phases that one Tiger tank (the one in your photo probably) was flipped over and it took ...

<t>Aye, a round doesn't need to penetrate to kill the crew.<br/>
<br/>
One of the more common causes of non penetrating crew casualties was 'flaking' of the internal armour. This occurs when the round doesn't penetrate but the force of the impact causes metal fragments from inside of the tanks ...

<t>Sherman Jumbos and VC firefly's are quite good cat killers. One thing about allied armour is that they may not be as heavily armoured as German tanks are but they are much faster and more nimble, my advice would be to put maneuverability to full use and keep your tanks on the move and always ...

<t>Not really. I know in Combat Mission you can snipe the commander of enemy tanks and APC's which heavily demoralizes the crew but I don't think you can do it in SPWAW.<br/>
<br/>
Snipers are best employed as scouts in SPWAW as they are cheap and fairly expendable and since they only consist of a ...

<t>The rescue vehicles I use tend to be fairly cheap and expendable kubelwagens or even 251 halftracks if I have the purchase points to spare. As far as moving the injured crew I usually just wait until they manage to unsuppress themselves before sending my rescue vehicle in. Once they've ...

I usually keep my AO fairly close to the front lines where my forces are but always in some form of cover (behind buildings, hills, inside forests, etc...) and always have a fast vehicle nearby for quick escapes.

<t>Yes you do need to buy your core units before starting.<br/>
<br/>
As for what to buy since you don't know what you'll be up against it's usually best to have a well rounded force.<br/>

I'm not sure how many points you've allocated for yourself and the PC to buy units with but I would ...

<t>Thanks for the info. I think I'm on the right track then. The damage model in the game itself uses a range that measures the minimum and maximum damage that a weapon causes, and I've set the damage so the 37mm doesn't always immediately knock out or severely damage a tank , even a light tank, on ...

37mm round effects on tanks

<r>I'm currently modding the RTS Sudden Strike 2 (quickly ducks for cover in his foxhole from those who don't view RTS's very favourably) and I have a small question regarding the effects of a 37mm round hitting an AFV.<br/>
<br/>
Now what I'm wondering is this, how does a 37mm round knock out a ...

<t>How much damage depends on the size of the cannon. A 75mm is gonna do more damage to a squad than a 50mm cannon since a 75mm round can carry more explosive charges than a 50mm one. <br/>

Their also smaller and a lot harder to spot and hit.<br ...
