RE: Ouestions

<t> Gil,<br/>
Thanks for the reply. As for the SSI game, it was a great one for its time. The non editing of maps is kind of a let down, but the scale of the ones provided seems pretty good though. I alsways liked games like Steel Pantheres and TOAW where you could make your own maps. I guess I'll ...

Ouestions

<t> The new project seems to have good potential. I do have a couple of questions though.<br/>
1) Is this going to be similiar to the old SSI "Decisive Battles of the American civil war ", series. I think that was the title. I havent played the Battleground series, so I'm not familiar with that.<br ...

RE: After the massive landmark update, TOAW III worth the buy?

TOAW III is still in my top three or four favorites after all these years, along with Steel Panthers, and Gary Grigsbys WBTS. Every time I get a new box, it is one of the first things that I import.

RE: Two questions on the new version

<t> Folks,<br/>
As one of the original "bitchers" about the naval combat in the game I can see some inprovment in the current version. I've been looking at my South Pacific scenario recently. The air and naval forces seem to be more involved with each other than previously. They also don't seem as ...

Looks great

<t> Folks,<br/>
I just want to say that the new version is a great update of the game. I have only tried one of my scenarios, but the look and new rules bring a new life to the system. I can open the game up to fill the whole page, in widescreen. My only minor complaint is that the units are still ...

RE: Update

<t> Folks,<br/>
Thanks for the info. I think I'll wait until later in the month to start playing with this mess. I am glad to see that there is still some interest in TOAW though. I always liked the systerm for the most part. I probably will still have issues with the naval movement.<br/>

Update

<t> Greetings Folks,<br/>
I just got a new machine. I went from XP to Win7. No nasty Vista related gunk for me.... <br/>
Anyway, I've got a couple of questions.<br/>
<br/>
1) Is there a way to fit TOAW into a widescreen? I've got the ..27 version but have no sound, and a little less than half a ...

RE: Recommend reading?

<t> Folks,<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
I'd add Bruce Cattons' Civil War history series, although its four or five books.&nbsp; It's the one most of us of a certain age started out reading.&nbsp;&nbsp;Alan Nevins' " The War for the Union" series is good also,if you want to get an in depth backround.&nbsp ...

Yeah.&nbsp; That's pretty much what I thought, and have already told him.&nbsp; It just sounded so odd that I was curious if it had happened to anyone else.

Revolting Delaware

<t> Folks,<br/>
<br/>
Has anyone ever had Delaware revolt on them?<br/>
<br/>
I have a friend who had it revolt in 1863 and suddently there were a couple of Confederate units there. I've been playing this game off and on for over a year and never heard of this before. Just curious. Hes playing ...

Yep...&nbsp; I've seen that too, in the 1.30 version.&nbsp; It seems to happen a lot in Northern Va, Manassas, Fredericksburg, and Winchester, after the Union has taken one of them.&nbsp; Ive seen it some in southern Kentucy and central Tennessee, after the Union has ...

Happy Thanksgiving ! (to U.S.)<br/>

My thanks to those who followed up here. I think I figured out what I was doing wrong. It seems that the TFs all start out with the retire option on. I'd move em out, and they'd move themselves back.... <br/>
My only problem now is ...

Carrier Group, West

<t>Mogami, et al<br/>
<br/>
I'm trying to get a carrier group out of Noumea in the Coral Sea scen. . Its the one that starts the scen there. I did manage to get it under way the most recent time I tried, but at the start of each turn it has its dest already set to noumea. The surface group in ...

Tried That

Mogami,

Thanks for the info on the transports. I wondered about how long it would take. I've tried giving a destination, and they either stay in the same hex, or go back into port.

By the way, I'm using Ver2.0

Thanks

Clearing Harbor

<t>Hi Folks,<br/>
<br/>
I have what I think will be a simple question to answer. How do task Forces clear the harbor....? I've tried undocking one turn and trying to move them the next, and just giving them a move order from the dock, neither seems to work. Is there a delay in movement? I am ...
