Will the Music Be as Good as in UV?

<t>Realized that I'd never turned off the music in UV, as I have in other CD games. The music for most of them gets very irritating after a while, but whoever chose the music for UV chose wisely. Good "soundtrack." My regards to the person who put it together. Will you be as creative, I hope, for ...

Setting the TF to "do not react to enemy" can prevent that, I believe.

<t>I've played a number of games vs. AI, both as Japanese and Americans, and I always leave the subs under computer control. I've been very pleased with the results in all cases. <br/>

In my current game as IJN vs. American computer (v. 2.30) I've been amazed at the Japanese sub successes. In ...

<t>Yeah, I'm not real impressed by the AI either. PBEM is undoubtedly the way to get the best out of this excellent game.<br/>
<br/>
I was playing sc.#17 as Japanese and the US AI managed to lose five of its CV's v. two of the IJN's CV's in the first couple of months. Then, inexplicably, the US sent ...

<t>Don't know how C & G's AAR was obtained, but I sure hope it wasn't from one player's screen exclusively, if it's supposed to be taken seriously. I thought Fog of War was going to be incorporated in WiTP. <br/>

Fog of War in combat reports is really essential, IMHO. Also in sighting reports ...

<t>We are a difficult bunch to deal with, don't you think? We're pressuring Joel, et al, for the Ultimate Patch, but if there's anything wrong you know we're gonna' be posting a flood of complaints. And we'll still be pushing for WiTP to be finished.<br/>

<t>Good suggestion, Mr. Frag. Thanks. I remember playing the Japanese side back in Gary Grigsby's old War in the South Pacific game, and it was fun. May try that while waiting for WiTP.<br/>

Thanks, Denisohn. By the way, was that marathon Civil War debate ever concluded? I'm afraid to go back and look. You made some good points, IMHO.

<t>Thanks again for the advice, Mr. Frag. But I must say that I'm more concerned about the enemy keeping **his** CV's afloat. I just ended a campaign (US vs. AI Japan, standard settings) in early '43 after sinking 5 IJN CV's, 3 IJN CVL's, and 3 IJN BB's, while losing just 1 USN CV and 1 USN BB. <br ...

<t>Thanks Mr. Billings and Mr. Frag for your responses. If I understand correctly, I will simply apply the 2.30 patch on top of my existing patched program, though it will be best not to continue old games with the new patched version of the program. (Did I get that right?)<br/>

<t>Mr. Billings: You suggest using v2.30 "as a completely separate install." Are you saying it would be best to reinstall the original game and then upgrade with the patch right to v2.30? In other words, that we should not install 2.30 on top of (2.10, 2.20 and then) 2.22 patches that are currently ...

<t>The UV 2.30 patch looks like it's taken into account as many of our criticisms as could possibly be expected, and they've gone beyond these to further improve the game. So I suggest we quit quibbling and game-on. We should save further criticisms for WITP patches. <br/>

To my knowledge, the Betty was a level bomber, and yes I've seen it attack my ships.
Checking the range for torpedo attack by the Betty, I'm not sure it was bombs, after all.

<t>Excellent modifications. Thanks very much. <br/>
Two minor complaints I'd still like to bring up are: a) I've seen messages telling me that a previously-unidentified enemy TF was incapable of launching a/c due to weather. A dead give-away that it was in fact a CV TF (or at least a surface combat ...
