RE: If you were Born before 1985

<r> Born in '68. Shiny metal slides that flash-baked your skin on a sunny 90 degree day. Smallpox shots and the round scar on your arm... my sister, 10 years younger, doesn't have that scar; I don't know whether to be grateful for that now, or paranoid. <br/>

I can still remember our first ...

RE: Forum Censorship?

<t> 1) Given the lyrics of the music, as well as the genre, I had no idea Crownd was a Christian band. Nor do I care.<br/>
<br/>
2) Do the lyrics say "Convert or be d4mned?" "Pagans are evil?" "Buy this game or go to H3ll?" No. So what, exactly, are you offended by? What if D. Heath had chosen ...

Weather... or not.

<t>I was going to stick this in the "Things I'd like to see" thread... but that's gotten quite large.<br/>
<br/>
So...<br/>
<br/>
I'd like to see more weather effects in the game: rain, snow, and fog, for example. Not just for the restrictions on visibility, but also on titan maneuverability ...

I downloaded v1.4 from the Underdogs site; links from that download, or from the site, or from various websearches eventually led me here... which led me to buy TOS:WS. :)

<t>Sorry for the belated response, Larkin. I got out of the game... namely, I had an earlier game saved from the previous battle. So, I didn't lose much except the battle I was fighting.<br/>

In future, I'll just have to take the precaution to save the game every 50-100 seconds or so (game ...

AI "stuck"

<t>While playing a Solitary game I had just saved, one of the AI titans decided to have a coniption fit: namely, it keeps switching from "Attack" to "Move" mode, over and over and over, ad infinitum.<br/>
<br/>
I can't get the AI to "let go"; and as I just saved the game, I can't change other titan ...

<t>Varies depending on circumstances:<br/>
<br/>
AC7 is good in Recon/Light/Medium titans, and against those titans.<br/>
<br/>
But vs. a Heavy or Assault titan, an AC7 is darned near worthless... like a peashooter vs. the heavy armor. An HMG sidesteps that issue. And there's nothing more annoying ...

Special-Effect Weapons

<r>TOS:WS has quite a few new weapons I call, for lack of a better phrase, "special effect" weapons: neutron beams, vibra-claws, black ray guns, napalm missiles, and the like.<br/>
<br/>
Among these (and many others) what do you consider to be the most effective ones?<br/>
<br/>
I tend to eschew ...

<t>What Thorgrom said.<br/>
<br/>
AC4's have really good range... I don't recall exact #'s, but they have the second-best range of any cannon (or is it first? Gauss Gun, then AC4? Whatever.) Large lasers have good range, but a CLG at maximum range doesn't compare favorably with an AC4 at the same ...

<t>I'm curious: was this your first game? No hostility intended, by the way.<br/>

Duels have different tactics than multi-titan combat. Also, your two titans seem (based off of your description) to have been armed with similar equipment, i.e. medium-ranged weapons (as opposed to Long-Range ...

<r>As for this American, I know of King Karl XII, and can (probably) recall on any given day that he was from Northern/Scandinavian Europe. I like the idea. When choosing an SRM or MG, I (almost) always choose MG, due to the recycle time/damage ratio; range factor be darned... although it does depend on what class of titan I'm creating.
