Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

2 by 3 has moved on. It is unlikely to get an analysis of the code. Just like the real history of WWII ... there will continue to be open questions. What a realistic game! :D

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

All systems over time experience entropy or cancerous growth. You reach a point where fixing a bug is as statistically likely as to introduce a bug. This and the appearance of new tech or requirements is often what motivates the development of a new system from scratch. Besides the huge expense such ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

Problem ; I found that I was assigning SU with low or zero CPP to frontline HQs

With my method every SU that I assign from Stavka is at or close to 100% CPP.

Without my method I could assign from Stavka a unit that has zero CPP as it may have just recently arrived from Reserve.

Of course I ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

I thought I read somewhere that SU CPP recovery is handled automatically if you leave them with HQs; and not bind them to a CU.

Re: New v1.04.10 Public Beta Now Available!

Any update on when the latest Beta is expected to become official?

Expected to happen this week.

Cool and then the project will be considered done? Well, just to let you know. If you or any of the betas/players want to assemble a high quality scenario pack beyond Steel Inferno, I will buy ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

I finally did get WITW (needed to reinstall the game; I had cloned my new system in 2023 and all seemed working) last night and played. Something to do with a DirectX runtime support; I would guess DirectX 8. I probably picked up 9-12 simply by installing the drivers for my new card during the ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

OMG! Sometimes, reinstalling something really does fix problems. WITW must be using DirectX8 or something, and reinstalling fixed my keyboard. AMAZING.

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

Thanks, Joel.

I didn't get to play WITW. I ran into absolutely one of the most bizarre bugs I have seen.

Certain keystrokes are just not being processed consistently. I think this arose after replacing my old PC 2 years ago. I did try all my games, but only launched WITW. It could be something ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

How did the game feel before CPP? Today, we go back into the history of gaming.

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

Joel,

It is very obvious even during casual play when for reasons you have moved all SUs to OKH (including manually pioneers) that CPP plays a big role on al CUs and not just arty.

BTW, I am off to play some WITW today.

If you have the units, I think one of the best ways to use CPP is to ...

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

When I find time, I need to go back and play some WITW and see just how much an impact CPP really has.

Isn't CPP a WITE2-only concept?

Meaning with & without CPP. Sorry, if I was ambiguous ...

I have done that in the past. I think I need to return this approach.

Re: Maintaining Offensive Momentum

Your average combat readiness (forget what its called; cross swords) falls with time. Enemy units that have been assembling in the rear are getting dug in; ie. fort levels.

Also, you are heading into a funnel which begins with a wide mouth, but narrows towards Leningrad.

Initial terrain is clear ...

Thanks, Wiedrock. I just downloaded it. I already have the original.

Do you use these spreadsheets for actual play, or just to better visualize concepts? (just curious)

Re: Air War Manual Control a Newbie Struggle

I have played that many times.

I only fly recon when I need to make a decision. Most recon questions for that scenario can be guessed with 80% accuracy.

I only use my fighter/bomber assets for ground support, and only for late scenario critical battles (toggled). Get there fast.

I manage my SUs ...

Re: How steep the learning curve compared to CMO?

You can download the manual from the store page.

That would be the best way to make a determination. I think it is more complex. But the real question is fun and intellectually challenging or complex just for sake of claiming to have mechanics and modeling?

A number of the sub-systems, you can put ...

Why after just a single attack (latest beta) does delay for the hex go from 0 -> 9?
