<t> Now now, let's be gentlemanly here[;)]<br/> <br/> I have to say that I find the 'HyperThreading theory' unusual simply because so many systems have the processers in them and afaik no-one else has reported the problem. This is not to say that RBWhite is wrong - he evidently knows far more about ...

RE: I can't wait for this game!!!!

There are several scenarios for TOAW available. There have been several attempts to make PC games that deal with WW1 ('The Entente' and 'Another War' are recent efforts) but I can't think of any that have been successful either commercially or critically.

RE: OK Who is the Worst General of WWI and why?

<t> Regarding Churchill, as EUBanana has already pointed out, the Grand Fleet so outmatched the High Seas Fleet that dispatching a couple of old, near obsolete, battlecruisers to the Falklands was no real weakening of their superiority. In any case, it was precisely the kind of mission that they wer...

Good luck, if/when you find a solution, let us know (even if it's 6 months down the road, although I hope you've sorted it before then[:)])

RE: OK Who is the Worst General of WWI and why?

I'd go for Robert Nivelle. Not only was his 1917 offensive a miserable failure but he was so out of touch with the condition of his troops that they mutinied.

Mozilla Thunderbird is a good alternative to Outlook Express. It also is less susceptible to the kind of security problems that bedevil Outlook Express.

<t> Allenby is one of the WW1 generals who found it very difficult to adjust to the static nature of war on the Western Front. Transferred to the ME he had the opportunity to show his true qualities.<br/> <br/> I think Allenby's case shows the difficulty of assessing best/worst commanders of WW1. Fa...

RE: Home Page or straight to forums?

I've found that 'Firefox' doesn't want to link straight to the forums. I don't mind because it does sometimes let me pick up on news that I might otherwise miss.

<t> I've had no problems with SPWaW8.0 - 8.3 although I have with the SPCamo versions. However, I did find WaW7.1 refused to run on W98. I'm not a big fan of the game, I download it because it's free and I find the occasional game is a decent break from some of the other games. What else can I say?<...

RE: XBOX vs PLAYSTATION 2

<t> Well Pippin I'd argue the toss nowadays over the significance of the PS2's ability to play old PS1 games. At launch then this mattered but today, why would you want to play them? Regarding the PS2's DVD player, yes it is built in but it hasn't got the functionality of the XBox one although, as y...

RE: XBOX vs PLAYSTATION 2

<t> I've played 'MoH: Allied Assault' on the PC and hated it. They're very linear, very scripted in parts and don't appeal to me at all. However, they've been reviewed well elsewhere so don't take my word as bible. However, if you're looking for WW2 themed shooters then 'Call of Duty: Finest Hour' a...

<t> Further to Bertram's comments. The AI in HTTR isn't perfect but it's better than any other game out there at present. There are also plenty of options that you can take according to the way you play. For example, if the 'orders delay' is unsuitable for you then it can be turned off, made longer ...
