Some Basic Questions

<t> I have the original WitP and the Matrix update. Just bought WitPAE and have a question or two. In the original you can easily change HQs from human to computer. I can't find a way to even list HQs now. Also, selecting a list of TFs and clicking on one doesn't take me to where it is. How do I ...

Basic Question

If any of you are old enough to remember USAAF, is this a fancier version with more bells and whistles, updated for modern times?

Does QB DLC upgrade SoWW?

I see there are a bunch of new and improved things in the QB DLC. If I have that, would these new behaviors also be in the original?

RE: Cavalry vs. artillery

I see that in the Quatre Bras DLC it says, "Removed the ability for cavalry to capture and bring enemy guns into action."

Cavalry vs. artillery

<t> Rereading John Keegan's book "The Face of Battle" and he discusses how, at Waterloo, artillery was usually placed in front of the infantry. When cavalry would come up the gunners would run into a nearby infantry square while the cavalry were unable to do anything with the guns as they were not ...

RE: New Scenarios?

<t> The great thing about WIA is that they kept adding to it. It started as French & Indian Wars plus Revolutionary War and they added the War of 1812. There are some 6-turn scenarios in there. Maybe focus on one region's activities in a short campaign without having to deal with everything else at ...

Web page error

The link "English Civil War Tips For Parliament" in the ECW forum connects with the Desert War forum.

New Scenarios?

WIA has 26 scenarios (plus a tutorial). Are there going to be any scenarios for ECW other than the three that come with it?

RE: Similar to WIA?

Thanks. I had just bought a game and three days later got notice that I had been a customer for seven years and here's a coupon. Bad timing, but this is very reasonably priced and I love the time period and location.

Similar to WIA?

This looks very similar to AGEOD's Wars in America (BoA2). I liked that one because it had no need for long command chains, making it a bit simpler. Am I right in thinking this?

RE: Sandbox problems

<t> Thanks. But why in a Defend scenario do I not receive points for defending? The objective is ALWAYS marked for the other side. I can prevent the enemy from getting points, but don't get any as I did in other games of this sort (TC2M). As Allied Defend, the objective is marked French with radius ...

RE: Sandbox problems

<t> 3 objectives, score 10109. Tried defend again and started next to objective but it was still listed as French when I am allied. Played as French defend, objective said Allied hold. Another, worse issue is that the last three times I played I was given only artillery, only cavalry, and only ...

Sandbox problems

<t> Chose Allied "defend" and was sent from the top of the map to the bottom where the marker showed French defend area. Okay, I'll treat is as an attack. Put army into column and marched down roads. Before I could get any units near the target the battle ended and I was told how poor a general I ...

RE: Sealion?

<t> Thanks. Just downloaded. I know it's been said before but I'll say it again. Your new games are great but some of these older ones are just as good (usually minus the graphics) and some of us spent many hours with them when they were new. There is definitely a market for us who remember printed ...

Just downloaded and updated to 2.02. Playing EF for about five turns when I got message saying game has stopped working. ALSO, can you play in fullscreen?

Sealion?

Glad Matrix has this Win 10 ready. I have WF, EF2, and Operation Sealion and had to dig out my old laptop to play. Thanks Microsoft. Is Sealion part of this package? I have to assume my old CDs have no use with this Matrix version.

Win10 problems

<t> Just tried HUCE after getting new computer. Haven't done much yet but have found the following: Computer asks if I want to intercept or close on enemy but there's no YES or NO buttons. Reloading aircraft doesn't work. Tell it what to do and it shows 30 minutes to go, but if you look back it has ...
