RE: BIN Patch Status ?

<t> re: still show 2-3 bullets<br/>
<br/>
I assume you mean they show that when right-clicking the hex? Right-clicking shows you the basic unmodified stats of the unit. You only see the current stats by selecting the hex and looking in the unit box -- which you can't do for enemy units.<br/>

Movement costs

<t> Checking my understanding ...<br/>
<br/>
Total MP cost of the hex you are in, plus penalty.<br/>
Total MP cost of the hext you are moving to, plus penalty.<br/>
Add, divide by two, round down.<br/>
<br/>
Correct?<br/>

I.e., moving infantry from a bocage with no penalty to a bocage ...

RE: To Italy Next!

It's also refered to directly in the tutorial -- the game engine (and tutorial) has sea transport, with a comment that it isn't used in BiN but will be used in Sicily, Salerno, and Anzio.

RE: Capturing objectives on the last turn?

<t> Did a quick experiment.<br/>
<br/>
I believe this is how it works --<br/>
<br/>
1. You're listed as getting 10 pts per turn, turn 3-5<br/>
<br/>
2. At the start of your turn 3, you receive 10 pts for having held it during the entirety of your previous turn. <br/>

RE: Capturing objectives on the last turn?

<t> Understood -- but I captured it on my turn 8, then went through the German turn 8, and then the game ended. Certainly, I'd think that should have counted.<br/>
<br/>
(it's debatable whether or not the 2nd player can/should be able to capture things on the very last player-turn of the game and ...

Documentation comments

<t> Thoughts on the documentation as I read through this weekend.<br/>
<br/>
- the tutorial is *superb* -- well worth all the effort that went into it -- as I hope is obvious, my queries/comments here are *way* down in the noise -- I already have a much deeper understanding of the game than I have ...

Capturing objectives on the last turn?

<t> Easy to believe I might have missed something, but ...<br/>
<br/>
In my first solo game, Cherbourg, I played the Allies and captured the "big" objective in Cherbourg on the last turn. I did not receive either the one-time capture VPs, or the turn 8 VPs?<br/>

Is this right? Wrong? Did I ...

It's up ... but you have to reload the page.

(go to "What if my download cuts out in the middle" and go from there)

RE: ANNOUNCEMENT: Battles in Normandy is NOT up yet, please do not purchase

I seem to be the guy that found it -- or at least, I reported it to Digital River 10 or 15 minutes ago. I assume the only screw-up is putting the wrong file in place?

(I have little/no fear that I'll be able to download once they fix the link)

Uninstall/Reinstall does not cleanup/fixup registry

<t>On XP, I uninstalled and reinstalled in a different directory (i.e., moved the installation from "C:\Program Files\Matrix Games\Korsun Pocket" to "C:\Matrix Games\Korsun Pocket"). It appeared that the registry was not cleaned up by the uninstall or fixed up by the reinstall.<br/>

Re-installing in the default directory, i.e., "c:\Matrix Games\Korsun Pocket", solved this problem for me. I was previously installed in "C:\Program Files\Matrix Games\Korsun Pocket".

Another willing victim

Experience: one solotaire game of 2nd Ukranian Front.

So I guess I'm ready to play for real.

- one of the shorter scenarios? e.g., Last Stand at Korsun or 2nd Ukranian Front
- either side

I can sustain one turn a day, with occasional extras.

Bug in E-Mail Setup

<t>There seems to be a bug involving the Email File Name. A little playing around makes me suspect that it can't contain a space character. <br/>
<br/>
Try the following scenario:<br/>
- Start a new e-mail game.<br/>
- Use "Don Space Don" as the Email File Name.<br/>
- Play the first turn.<br ...

After exiting (either with "exit and send" or with "return to start"), I find ".eml" files in my "EmailSave/Sent" folder.

= is this a bug?
= something to do with the "e-mail sender"?

E-mail location?

This feels like a foolish question, but I can't find or figure out the answer. Where do you place a received e-mail turn (.eml file) so that "load e-mail" will find it?

(I'm trying to do an e-mail turn w/ myself to see how it works)
