I never really liked the AC7. Twas too heavy and bulky for me.

However, the HMG gained a lot of respect from me ever since it crippled both legs of my main fighter the other day.

<r>Personally, I think the campaigns could've been better done. It lacked the addictiveness that I got from the campaigns in many other games. But then again, what more could you really put in the campaign of a mech game?<br/>

I just wish that they had more effect on later missions (besides ...

The vibra claw is a new weapon? I always thought it was in the freeware version of ToS. But on a side note, my favorite addition to that version 2 (freeware) of ToS was the power axe. So simple and small, yet so very useful as a backup close combat weapon.

Is there any way to patch a game without have to use the true update thingy (after you finish that patch)? I play this game more often on my other computer that doesn't have net access.

<r>Hmm... LRM's never really posed much of a threat to me in my recon/light battles. All those little 2 damage missiles shot by complete beginners never scared me as much as the flamethrowers, tesla bolts, and power axes. I used to just send most of my titans to run into a melee with the CC titans ...

<r>So that means that my jocks could reach ages of 300+ and still be as fit as ever? Well, it is the future... everything's possible with nanotechnology.<br/>

But still, an aging effect would be cool. At age 80, they lose constitution and dexterity but gain intelligence and instinct. At age ...

Does age matter?

I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but it looks like my jocks are aging. Does it really affect them after a while or are they all immortal?

Hmm... come to think of it, this game's first campaign battles are quite taxing on money and titan's. Maybe it's just my strategy, but since the fourth mission in that easiest campaign, I've been having to continually do more random battles just to get my money flow up.

That's kinda why I asked. I'm too lazy to log on to IMs, coz they slow down my computer and connection ever so slightly and tend to log off when I'm not looking. It would be a bit more professional to have a little multiplayer room feature in-game.

<t>I'd appreciate it if there were better online multiplayer capabilities. I mean, the battles don't have to be hosted on VB/Matrix servers, I'd just like it if I could find some opponents within the game, instead of having to go all the way to Wargamer. You know, some little room joinable within ...

<t>Ah, sorry, I mistook 1 hex as one km. And I thought that engine explosions only occur at very high temperatures (according to what I understand from the manual) or if they get destroyed. And I think I've seen a few times when the engine of my titan was destroyed but it wasn't blown up. Assumed ...

Staying away doesn't really work when you get knocked down or ambushed. And it's nearly impossible to outrun one of those Fireball recons.

I know that they've got quite a bit of flaws, but those things could take out most non-shielding titans before ammo becomes a problem.

I prefer the Auto-cannon 20 over the Tesla. They don't really heat up the attacker as much and don't put so much strain on the engine.

Vibra claws are a must-have as well... :)

I thought androids heal naturally, without life support. I'm not sure, but I don't think they use the medical skill for it.

Though logically, androids aren't supposed to get much experience anyway. That's the specialty of humans :P.

Aren't the flamethrowers too powerful?

<t>Those goddamn flamethrowers are light, very fast, do a LOT of damage, are very accurate at close combat, and above all, they add to the target's heat. I know you can probably counter them by jumping away or hitting them at range, but in a horde, those Fireball? recon titans are nearly unstoppable ...

<t>I usually just put my support jocks in a titan loaded with SRMs to give em some training. SRMs are DEADLY when used by semi-skilled jock at even 4 or 5 hexes away. My team leader's in one packed with just two 8 rack SRMs and two 7 rack napalms and she can take out just almost any recon or light ...
