Re: In DWU, where do I find the setting to "change a theme"?

I didn't get the main menu until just a few minutes ago. Needed DirectX. Sorry.

In DWU, where do I find the setting to "change a theme"?

I can't locate it anywhere. Can anyone tell me where it is?

Re: U.S. Army numbers are in error

Look at what Army numbers are in the editor. That's where I found it.

Also all USN fleets are odd numbered for the Pacific and even numbered for the Atlantic.

US Army ETO armies are odd numbered, PTO armies are even numbered.

U.S. Army numbers are in error

All WW2 U.S. armies committed to the Pacific were even numbered. All armies committed to Europe had odd numbers.

The army numbers in this game should all be corrected to being even.

The reverse error was made in the ETO Version of this game and I pointed it out and it was corrected.

Re: Is there a way to adjust carrier air attacks so that they can have increased effects on ground units?

Yes. Mode set to bombing, max attacks by multiple fleet carriers on a garrison unit with a max entrenchment of two (which is far more likely to be at one), and zero damage done. Carriers are rated 2/2/2.

Is there any way to dial up the damage in the editor?

Is there a way to adjust carrier air attacks so that they can have increased effects on ground units?

Right now three fleet carriers attacking an unentrenched unit have zero net effect. I would like them to occasionally inflict a hit. Is there a way to use the editor to adjust carrier air attacks so that they have increased effects on ground units?

BTW,this is a worthy member of the Strategic ...

Re: Are riverboats too powerful?

Think we agree.
Discussing tactical, in a strategic game.
40guys sneaking off a boat at night from obscure direction/flank won't kill 400 entrenched troops.
But they could hit a wagon trail of food, ammo, pack mules, making the enemy 20% less effective.

Back in the day I could take 4 men and ...

Re: finally French intervention and CSA victory

I had the Brits invade the Union at several places from Canada, notably Detroit, and also to make a landing in Washington state and Oregon. I used their Navy to back the Union Navy off of the CSA. It worked!

I followed the same strategy with the English instead of the French and won as well.

Re: Map is far too large

Actually, the map seems just fine — given the myriad of skirmishes all over the place during the Civil War, one needs a fairly large map to accommodate all the battles, large and small. A World at War map with this many hexes would have been nice.

I’d like to agree. The Civil War was vast in ...

Re: Unit Color Mistake

The problem is this: that standard falls apart in a Blue vs Gray game.

A color change exception is needed here. Heck, make transports red and have everything else use only either blue or gray.

Unit Color Mistake

The unit type rectangle on CSA naval units, but not transports, has a blue background field. This is extremely confusing and makes them look similar to US units. Meanwhile the CSA transport unit correctly has a dark gray unit type rectangle.

Please fix all CSA units to have gray unit type ...

Re: This needs work

You have indeed made some needed improvements. Well done for that.

Adding a scenario turn length selector (go big!) will be another one. Thank you for that as well.

What this game could really use is a way to import that huge treasure of Squad Leader scenarios into the game.

I wish you luck. I m ...

Re: This needs work

Well, some progress has been made. But not nearly enough.

You still can't edit and save an existing scenario.

You still can't change the lengths of existing scenarios when selecting one.

There is still no real scenario editor, just a partial one.

There is still no unit editor.

This game still ...
