Thank you for confirming that I wasn't missing a way to stop the suicidal ships.

It's unfortunate as it's rather tedious turn away the state ships, and the civvies are just doomed.

Is there a way to mark a system off-limit and stop ships flying to certain death?

Started a new game with the DLC, and noticed that it's hard to stop ships from flying to dangerous systems.
Is there a way to set a system such that ships will not fly there?

There is a Independent Colony that has a 17,000 STR Insta-death Battleship (Mortanlan AI) that kills anything that wanders ...

I noticed the same effect. I had two empires in an Operational Map Sharing agreement, but upon loading the save, the movement of their ships is not shown on the map.

There may be a work around if your repaired abandoned ships are ending up controlled by an AI empire:

It setting your Policy under Exploration > Investigate Abandoned Ships When to " Investigate Report Major " will result in my empire getting control of the ship, but if it's set to " Prompt " it ...

Option 2: Turn off the setting that prompts you to search ships and have the AI just do it by default. The popup you're getting just before you notice the bad guy just got your salvage seems to be the buggy popup and this setting eliminates that popup.

I noticed that when a constructor repairs an abandoned ship (from a ship graveyard), after the investigate popup, control of the ship is transferred a nearby AI empire.

This seems to be a bug. If this is "working as intended" then there should be a message to this effect, and constructors shouldn't ...

It has happened more than once, and I don't see any sort of story event popup about the ship being transferred to another AI empire. Which makes me think this is a bug rather than an "undocumented feature".

Repairing abandoned ships end up owned by Enemy empire

Playing the latest Beta version, 1.0.3.1

I noticed that my constructors are repairing abandoned ships, but when they are completed, they end up owned by an Enemy Empire. I don't recall that happing before, anyone else notice this effect?

Thanks for the tips, I'll try these out.

Maybe another item for the "wish list" is the ability to create a "Custom Role" , this way you can have "Frigate" as standard, but you can create a new role called what you like. In my case, maybe I'd name the new role "Assault FR", and the AI would ...

I wanted to make a specialized ship design (in this case a Frigate with Assault Pods to capture ships with advanced tech).
So I Added a new Frigate design, and built a few of ships and formed a fleet with them.
It worked relatively well in that I managed to capture a few pirate ships with the fleet ...

I've noticed that every time I move a fleet for defense / attack, the ships in the fleet move at different speeds or entered hyper at different times and they arrive at the location all strung out.

Anyone have any handy tips and suggestions in managing Fleets?
