Carrier Air Attack

Okay. Having trouble figuring out how to attack using carriers against other naval targets. Assuming this is switch mode to naval/tactical but still doesn't want to attack ships. Please assist

RE: Giving up current game

<t> Thank you all. These are great comments. I did have lots of HQs, at least 6 plus the Italians when they showed up. Yes the encircled units getting stronger is a very frustrating aspect but now I get it, the towns are key. I will have to reread the supply rules. In my last few turns, I parked ...

Giving up current game

<t> I have to confess that I'm not getting the operational concept of this game. First time player, reset the game from medium to easiest and tried turning off "Fog of War" for me and turning it back on for the AI. So this should have been a cakewalk. Took France easy enough, even took England in an ...

V1 rocket gripe

<t> Okay I know this is in the manual, but I built V1 rockets as Axis with the intent on doing some strategic bombing. They have a range of 2-3 hexes?? That's barely enough for tactical battles. I thought these things flew (IRL) as far as fighter planes could. This seems to be a significant let down ...

RE: Soviet resurgence

<t> So I took out the rear area corps, now there are multiple tank corps and more infantry coming from the Siberia area. It's only mid-1942, I took Leningrad and liberated Egypt, but unsure if I can handle the Sovs even with raiders on the supply chain. Tell me things can get better. Will the ...

Soviet resurgence

<t> Okay very annoyed right now[:@] I have the Soviets pretty much reeling and moving on Leningrad. There are some spots of holdouts in my rear area but I thought, hey, they're cut off, not moving. Time to bypass and move on. Then a Tank Corps and two Infantry Corps pop up next to another Corps in ...

Fog of War

Okay dumb question - I turned on fog of war so that I could figure out this game. So does my computer AI also have zero fog of war, because he decimated my Uboat fleet. I thought for some reason that the computer AI would still have fog of war but I would not. Confirmation?

How to deal with British fleet?

<t> Hi - new player, still figuring out the game. I've made some bad mistakes with naval forces as the Axis, basically lost the German fleet in 1940 in the North Sea and lost the Italian fleet in the Med against the British fleet. Can you offer any advice? Basically do the germans/italians stay in ...

Invasion of Norway

<t> Still getting used to this game, in single player only. So I'm invading Norway in the Blitzkrieg DLC and working my way to Oslo, and it says "you lose, you failed to take Norway." It was less than 10 turns into the game. It had warned me that there was a British fleet coming but would not let me ...

RE: QUESTION ABOUT OPS FIRE

I am pretty sure the answer is no. I think the plane/arty auto attack is only at the narrows, e.g., Gibralter, English channel, Suez Canal, some spots around Indonesia.

RE: How much research?

<t> Okay the research just confuses me. I am just figuring out production (noted someone said don't buy factories - TOO LATE). When I research something that is for example value 2 (0/7), that means I have to spend 7 research to get it to go to value 3. Does the colored flask mean anything other ...

Very DISAPPOINTED!!!

<t> All the EBs in Alexandria and Arlington Virginia are sold out or haven't gotten deliveries. My impression is (I think similar to others) that the EBgames outlets only took in one or two copies and now they're going "oops, our bad." [:@] Best Buy has no idea about the game either. Guess it's ...

Very carefully

Yeah the home office has its disadvantages. However if in the living room, there is the "noise" factor. I just try to ration the time, no more than one hour gaming per night, and sometimes skipping through weekends. It's tough but priorities have to be on keeping mamasan happy.

<t> Re: interdiction, you know the thing I was not cognizant of was that, in playing the 36-turn Operation Normandy scenario, the Allies can interdict all the way down to the bottom of the screen where some reinforcements were coming from. Didn't see that until I played the German side. This is ...

<t> To add to diesel's (correct but short) evaluation, the Germans launched into a big research effort to reestablish their chemical industry in the 1920s, initially working in the Soviet Union because the Versailles treaty forbid them to do research IN GERMANY. In the 1930s, they decided they didn ...
