RE: First PBEM against Mike - somewhere near Omaha Beach

<r> Things are going partly well, partly bad. For the latter<br/>
part let's get a front line report from sgt. Burns,<br/>
ranger B Company, 1. platoon:<br/>

<QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>
We are pinned here. Constant 81 barrage, and this shitbag<br/>
of a colonel doesn't do a thing about it. <br ...

RE: First PBEM against Mike - somewhere near Omaha Beach

<t> Only a short report this time, I urgently need some sleep.<br/>
<br/>
Mike killed a halftrack which stupidly fired towards<br/>
a german tank form about 15 hexes away (or maybe I<br/>
was stupid not to set the range).<br/>
But then finally something to ease my wrath:<br/>
Another german PZ ...

LOS - the great unkown

<t> One of the main problems I have with SP:<br/>
The wargames that I played before<br/>
all had the options to show LOS for an arbitrary<br/>
hex of which I made heavy use. In SP it seems<br/>
only LOS of hexes where you have a unit in can be<br/>
made visible and my LOS estimations are very ...

RE: First PBEM against Mike - somewhere near Omaha Beach

<t> It seems to go uphill again for mike. I was advised by supreme command to havily underestimate my losses to bolster home morale but what the heck:<br/>
<br/>
I lost 3 more Shermans during his turn. Two of them were hull down and in rough hexes. Was that bad luck, bad luck or bad luck? If the ...

Just select the unit, hit space and locate the text 'will clear mines in front of unit'.click this text few times until it changes to 'will place mines in front of unit'..let the unit be still couple turns and you got yourself a minefield

RE: First PBEM against Mike - somewhere near Omaha Beach

<t> First of all: Help! Does anyone know what to do to see enemy movement during the VCR playback? I only see enemy troops when they are shot at by my own units but this way a whole tank regiment could use a turn to pass by my infantry and I wouldn't even notice it. This can't be the usual way of ...

First PBEM against Mike - somewhere near Omaha Beach

<t> Major Kensey reporting, first assignment.<br/>
The map is large, about 2700 points involved.<br/>
I have forgotten the exact number.<br/>
Much open and hills with a larger hill in the center<br/>
which controls much of the middle. North and south<br/>
has patchy or not so patchy forest.<br ...

First PBEM

Hi people,
is there someone who would like to play my first pbem
with me? I have 8.0 and prefer playing as americans
(as I played the guadalcanal and long road to
victory campaign and know their units best) but
would play any other nation as well.

RE: KG just an observation from an ex Mod

<t> Sarge, I am quiet new to this forum so I might have missed <br/>
something, but why shouldn't a mod be allowed to have his own<br/>
opinion and to defend it agressively? I think it is ok<br/>
as long as he seperates his actions as a mod<br/>
(keeping up the rules in the forums) from that<br ...

RE: A Personal Observation:Playing as the Germans

<t> If you decide not to play the germans because of war<br/>
atrocities you should also stop playing soviets<br/>
as more people died in stalins gulags than in<br/>
nazi concentration camps.<br/>
<br/>
I personally don't like playing russians and japanese<br/>
not because atrocities but ...

RE: What I Would Like to See for a New MC..

How would be a bataillon of the 7th australian infantry division.
Early in the war syria against vichy france and
tobruk against germany, later New Guinea/Kokoda trail
and finally borneo until the end of the war.
Would nicely combine very different theaters.

<r> Maybe you have been to north germany. In the 40s they<br/>
were mostly speaking a dialect called 'Plattdeutsch'<br/>
which more resembles the language today spoken in<br/>
the netherlands than the common german.<br/>
