RE: 200k troops at Saipan?

<t> Still not able to run the save on my laptop. I did, however, install the game on another drive on my 64 bit machine. It won't run the save either. I suspect the original install is corrupted. The C drive consists of 2 72 gig raptors in a RAID. I don't know if that has anything to do with the ...

200k troops at Saipan?

<t> Hi guys:<br/>
In my game against the AI, things are going well. Mid-January 1943, most of KB sunk or heavily damaged for the complete loss of Wasp, and Yorktown in the yards for at least 6 months. Singapore retaken, as well as all of Indochina. I've decided to forgo the invasion of the ...

saves don't load on network

<t> Hi all:<br/>
I've been complaining incessantly about the inability to run saves on my laptop. I finally got my network setup and copied the save across the network. It still won't run! Both computers are running the same version of the game, ver. 1.21. Both computers will run the game ...

64 bit saves won't run on 32 bit machines?

I've had this problem since I built my new computer (AMD-64). My saved games will no longer run on my laptop. they fail to load. I never had this problem with my old 32-bit machine. The saves are not hidden or archived. I'm running ver. 1.21.

creating PT boats?

<t> Hi all:<br/>
In my battle against the AI, I have recaptured Singapore. I would like to create a PT boat TF here to harrass IJN shipping coming out of Palembang. I have a transport TF with supplies in Singapore, and 20 k supplies in the base itself. Intelligence screen says I have 40 pt boats ...

Is it possible to skip bomb? Will my bombers do it automatically? Or do they have to be set at a certain (low) alititude?

What's up with toggle switches?

<t> I'm baffled by the toggle switches (ok, maybe I'm easily baffled). For instance, the 'accept replacements' switch on airgroups. When I click it, it changes to 'do not accept replacements'. What setting have I selected? Am I now accepting replacements? The switch says I am not, yet I clicked on ...

RE: Holding Singapore, PI, and DEI

<t> I've managed to hold onto Timor vs. the AI. I got every air unit out of P.I. and Singapore, and more importantly, the base units. I also rushed everything I could get into Rangoon and Moulmein. Whenever KB became too obstreperous I would raid with U.S. carriers and KB would rush toward the ...

RE: Why are the private houses in USA made of wood?

<t> I went through the Northridge quake back in '94. I lived in Burbank and woke up in the middle of the night. I actually heard the quake coming, not a low rumbling, but more like a really bad train wreck that just kept going on and on, stuff crashing, exploding. Then it hit, and the whole ...

Allied Carrier Coordination Penalty

I can't find it in the manual (believe me, I looked) but I seem to recall that there is a penalty for more than two carriers in an Allied Air Combat TF in 1942. Is that correct? Anyone know where in the manual it is located? Thanks.

<t> Ok, if I don't solve this problem, I swear I'm going to leap off my office chair!<br/>

What do you want to see in WITP II?

<t> I'm hoping that WITP II will be a reality some day. WITP I is the most enjoyable wargame I have ever played. I play like a fiend for three months, go on to something else (Rome: Total War, Vampire: The masquerade, etc.) but I always return. Taking what we've learned from the game, what could a ...
