RE: Game Manual??

<t> Once you find the manuals, I would highly suggest you run through the tutorial, then play one of the smaller (not the full-map) scenarios before jumping into the entire war.<br/>
<br/>
The manual is pretty good considering the scope of the game, but the game experience only gets better once ...

RE: Repairing Ships

Remember that for max repair capability, you should have a Repair Yard (like PH or SF) and 4 ARs in it.

Then your damaged ships have to be either docked in a TF or disbanded in port.

Nope.. ships only use fuel. Ground and air units consider supply as fuel.

RE: Repairing Ships

It is automagic.. sometimes it just takes a while to get moving (and never really that fast - given the 1 day turns).

If you have a lot of ships damaged it takes more time as well (repair crews spread thinner).

<r> You are absolutely right about the subs Ron,<br/>
<br/>
Please take my comment in context however.<br/>
<br/>
The vast majority of the US public had little to no idea how effective the sub force was until after the war was over. The Silent Service was silent on all fronts.<br/>

RE: WITP - Maps now available

Kpax,

You don't NEED a map, as it is always done in-game.

This map is a poster-sized bonus for us yahoos who like to sit and stare at the wall and project strategy when we need to unplug from our systems..

I think it's worth the price meself..

<t> No Navy can leave old ships out of harm's way for one reason: public opinion.<br/>

No naval commander can ever come even CLOSE to being accused of cowardice because it could spell disaster for the whole service.<br/>

Projector??

Oh.. my. Cool!

Being able to have real war-room size maps up there (and the ability to read the fonts! [:)])

Over the top D, but very cool nonetheless...

There is a third special type for Fast Transport TF's but it is really wrapped around the concept that a Fast Transport TF will never *load* more then it can *unload* in one round. This is *why* you must set the destination before giving the load ...

<t> It's just a logical progression. The smaller the area you are searching = the more planes doing the search = more found ships.<br/>

Searching out to only 4 hexes instead of 10 could be considered a huge difference. You are just about guaranteed to spot the TF. Just as they drop anchor ...
