RE: Please help... .mod or .3ds to .mag.... ship model conversion

<t> Actually I agree with Damo...his way is way easier and more straight forward.<br/>
I only went with the the OBJ method cause I was having weird issues with textures using 3DS back in the pre 3.9 days, and as I was just playing around with a few ships I went with what I knew worked for me ...

RE: Please help... .mod or .3ds to .mag.... ship model conversion

<t> The only thing based on your description that I think you missed was editing the .MTL file (this 'material' file gets output from Max with the OBJ file). This is the file that the OBJ uses to define the textures it needs. It defaults to the BMP files of the original, and if you dont change it to ...

RE: Please help... .mod or .3ds to .mag.... ship model conversion

<r> OK I'll start by saying I'm not a 3D guy, so this may not be the best or optimum way to do it, and once you have the model in magic I cant help with additional modeling or texturing etc... BUT I have succesfully been able to convert a Starfleet Command model using 3DS Max 4.2. Heres the way I ...

RE: B5 Update

<r> The files are compressed using the .ace file format (there should be a file titled Mods.ace). It can be uncompressed using programs such as:<br/>

RE: B5 Help

I actually got the same error message under windows 2000, but I just ignored the errors when they popped up (as John had suggested) and everything seems to be working ok. I haven't run into any problems during gameplay.

Custom Sounds

I know when creating a new weapon, you can define a custom sound in the .def file. Is their a way to alter or assign sounds to other parts of the game, such as engines or explosions etc...?

RE: Sound cuts out completely

<t> Forgive me if I misunderstood what you did, or if you already attempted this, but I gathered from your post that you were looking at adjusting video settings and not sound settings. <br/>
<br/>
From the Start Menu, Select "Run...", and then type 'dxdiag'. This should open the DirectX ...

RE: Sound cuts out completely

I posted a similar problem a few weeks back, and have found that the suggestion of reducing hardware acceleration seems to fix it, though It does become a bit choppy.

Its not a perfect solution but it is better than no sound.

Sound Problem

<t> Whenever I play the game, after 5-10 minutes of play, the audio of the game cuts out completely. The game continues to play fine, just without sound. Deosn't matter whether is a new game, loaded game etc...<br/>
<br/>
If I exit the game and then restart everything is fine for another 5-10 ...
